Animation insists on leaping over wall

I hope my subject line explains what's going on. I'm making my first animation. It's a very simple first floor room in a building that I'm standing in front of, in the first frame. So, next scene is at door; next, inside room at door; next, looking left; next, looking right; next, moving toward back of room; next, turning left; next, moving backward a tad more to take in more of room. At this point I played the animation the first time, and saw that in order to return to the first location, the "camera" moved left through the wall to the first frame/scene location.
So I knew I had to add interim scenes, and put another one back at the open door. I played the ani, and now the camera leapt up and over the wall (which isn't open anyway in real life -- there's another floor!) in order to return to original location!
So I added another scene after having stepped back outside through the door, and this time, the camera actually backed up(!) in order to move left through the wall again! This is crazy! What do I have to do so that it won't look like I have to dematerialize like a ghost to walk through walls, or develop super powers and leap over tall buildings?
I've searched through Help files, I've researched this forum for the answer, and I've watched numerous YouTube tutorials, and I could not find anything on this issue.
So any help is immensely appreciated!

I have come to think of SU's animation output as raw footage. I copy my avi footage into WinMovieMaker, then edit it to my satisfaction. You can fade out of one room, then fade into another. The app. can also be used to delete the frames that show the flickering shadows bug.

That's a very cool idea, and I will keep that in mind for future animations, as well! In this case, I'd have to cut out so many frames that there would be a visible jump cut from just before the camera moves left at the door, to when it's back outside. So if anyone knows a way to make that walk-thru smooth in SU, I'd still appreciate it.

Hi Gigi.
I did this "animation" in SketchUp, exporting .mov files from SketchUp and then re-importing them into Apple's iMovie. I know that you aren't using a Mac, but I'm sure there is an equivalent out there for windows? (oh yes- "windowsmoviemaker" oops )

One suggestion, I found that iMovie wouldn't accept any other frame rate apart from 29.5 fps. I took me ages to work that one out. This may be the same for other cheap or free packages.
edit; also to stop the camera "leaping over walls", you may just have to edit that bit out, and adding in a cross-fade.

Tom! That is a marvelous design and re-use of a church! This is so amazing, because I've been looking for a church to convert for years, and I think I've finally found one. When that happens, I can't wait to use SU to make my plans! I just have to get an agent to show it to me -- and am having a terrible time with that.
Anyway, yes, I get that about cutting out the jump in the video version, it just seems that SU ought to have a way to keep that from happening. Does anyone know why this is happening?
Well, until I find out, I guess I'll just have to edit my videos.

Gigi, have you found the animation options? Via Window > Model info > animation you can set how long it takes to go from one scene to another, and whether the camera should pause at each scene. Then when you export, be sure to click 'options'. Here you can un-check the box for 'loop to start', if you'd like.
