So this means you integrated Intel Open Image Denoise, or is this something else?

RE: Maxwell texture mapping
The mapping should be done in Sketchup. "Relative" is the right option.
What's wrong with the first image? The texture is stretched a bit in one direction, because you made it square. But besides that it looks ok to me. -

any updates we release ... Was he lying?
Any updates they release for the classic license... maybe not lying, but concealing that the feature sets will be different...

Large Area Imports for Add Location. ... Note that this feature is only available to SketchUp Pro and Studio subscription holders.
LOL...
I mean, i couldn't care less, because i don't have an active subscription anyway at the moment, but i think, this is just the beginning...
(where btw. the active subscription needed for "add location" was the first step... there was a time when this wasn't needed to use aerial photos in SU...) -
RE: Modeling organic airport roof
I think you should take a look at subdivision modeling...

[REQ] Control camera shift by numeric input
Is it possible to express the camera shift on a two-point-perspective with a numeric value like the percentage of the image height? This would be really helpful for getting precise shifts and to transfer them to other scenes.
The plugin "camera memory" can copy a camera position, but only if it hasn't been shifted.

RE: Poor Performance with Pretty High-End Hardware
I can say, that SU2016-2019 is clearly slower and less workable for me compared to v2015. The degradation kicks in earlier and the recovery time is longer (very annoying!). That's one reason why i'm still working with v2015.
I have a model (3.2 M edges, 1.7 M faces) which i can rotate and zoom in 2015 without any degradation with ~8-20fps (textures and hidden lines on, without shadows of course), while in 2019 the model already degrades and runs with only 4-9fps.
(i7 5960X@4.5GHz, GTX 970)(Texture display/recovery is clearly faster since 2016 - for a low poly model with many (small) textures (~12k edges, ~300 faces, ~300 textures/mats) almost instant, while 2015 is very slow with this model)

To put it plainly, it's been asked for years and the developers do not care for this option.
Trimble doesn't care about any whishes of their users. This whole feature request thing is useless.

RE: "Isolate" group/component
@cadfather said:
unfortunately not, sketchup just adds a duplicate submenu.
Yes, i noticed that as well. Anyway... it just would have been a bit more clean and organized. But that's really a minor thing.
Thanks again for your help! -
RE: "Isolate" group/component
Yes, it works! Very cool. Thanks!
Is it possible to add it to the "Component Edit" submenu?
-
RE: "Isolate" group/component
No problem. Thanks for putting this together! It's already working.
-
RE: "Isolate" group/component
Ok, i got it working...
I just copied the structure of some other plugin, so i don't know if this is the correct way to do it. But it's working.
There is only one problem: it doesn't check the actual display status, so if one of the two hide options is already active, the function will be messed up.
For me it's working, but i think the more elegant way would be, if it could synchronize both options.I tried to place the entry in the existing "Component Edit" submenu, but with "add_submenu" a second entry is generated. Is there a way to add it to the existing submenu?

RE: "Isolate" group/component
Thank you very much!
But i get this at startup...
-
"Isolate" group/component
In the model settings i can change the way how similar comps and the rest of the model are displayed when i edit a group/comp. To isolate a single comp, both options have to be activated. Is there a plugin that that lets you toggle both options at once with one shortcut?

Yes, i noticed that too.

Like they do with every lackluster release, they wait it out, people forget fast. Frankly, I do not think they give a shit what we think, they just do not like us expressing our thoughts on their forum it seems.
Yes, business as usual. Like all the other years without real improvements. They just don't care...
But it looks like Trimble has started an offensive to counter all the negative "open letters" in their forum. This really sounds to me like they wrote it themselves... and with a fresh account registered a few days ago.
https://forums.sketchup.com/t/open-letter/88172
And even if this is a real post, i think it's very sad, since it must be someone who seems to have completely lost reality... (or discovered SU just very recently and doesn't know what's going on elsewhere in the 3D-world) -

I am wondering if SketchUp along with subd can handle this comfortable chair?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4zYxRXFKD4&t=231sSymmetry is not possible in SU (weld+subd of two mirrored components). To subdivide the middle part you have to combine both sides in one group/comp.
