I would like to purchase the bundle. Two questions:
- I already have a FredoCorner license installed. Can they be installed together or is there an upgrade to the bundle license?
- How can i register a VAT number?

It looks like it just started in beta a few days ago...

I don't know, if this has been discussed before, but Vertex Tools 2 is crashing a lot for me (SU 2021). Sometimes every few minutes. Not the whole plugin or SU, but the gizmo disappears and i have to restart SU to get it back. It's possible that it is related to the SU autosave, since i see the windows "wait cursor" and the program is freezing for a short time, just before the operation is canceled and the gizmo disappears forever.
Mainly for CPU or GPU rendering?
What i can say at first sight... a Xeon is not needed, normally overpriced and outdated. And 16GB RAM is definitively not enough. Without knowing the components, it's impossible to say much about this config. But i suppose that at this price everything besides the GPU is more on the cheaper side and the GPU is the most expensive part here.
Video cards are still very rare and absurdly expensive atm.. So if you're planning more for CPU rendering, a smaller card than a 3080 TI could be a better choice. There has been announced a 3070 TI with supposedly 16GB for the next months.
( https://www.tomsguide.com/news/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3070-ti-16gb )
On the other hand it's still possible that the offer isn't that bad, if this is a PC from a bigger manufacturer like Dell or HP and they are still getting GPUs at a lower price. But to say anything about it, we need to know the parts.
Here is a config that i would choose at the moment in this price range (for CPU rendering):
Ryzen 9 5950x - 64GB - 500GB+2TB SSD - RTX 3060 12GB
https://skinflint.co.uk/?cat=WL-2345494
and the same with 3080 TI
Ryzen 9 5950x - 64GB - 500GB+2TB SSD - RTX 3080 TI 12GB
https://skinflint.co.uk/?cat=WL-2345529
Both configurations with 16 cores, 64GB RAM, only SSDs (no mechanical drive), decent board and good CPU cooler, PSU and case. The only difference is the GPU.
(Not totally sure regarding the board, i would have to look deeper into it. But at least this one comes with 2x PCIe 4.0 16x (for potential GPU rendering upgrades in the future) and 2x M.2 PCIe 4.0 4x for a second fast M.2 SSD.)
For more CPU cores you would need to switch to Ryzen Threadripper, where everything is much more expensive.

OMG Where is the BUY Button????

Yes, i was hoping too that this would get some attention. And i don't understand why this project has been canceled.
I think it should be possible. Pasting simple geometry is already there, but i think no longer developed. But maybe this "Pixamoon" plugin is based on the same code...
Very cool!
It would be great, if this could be made non-destructive / as modifier. But i suppose it's not possible with SketchUp to store the operations in the model/component. Maybe this could change in the future with LiveComponents...

How about you try it for yourself and see what works for you.
I think that's what i'm doing and have done since the tray system has been released. This is how my setup looks so far...
On this 4k screen covered space isn't that much of a problem. But i have another workplace with only 1440p.
And one problem that i have with docking and pinning of trays is that this always changes the aspect ratio/field of view. So this isn't really a good option for me.

So you are questioning/complaining about a system you don't even use, therefore don't understand.

I thought i've understood the system quite well, but maybe i've overlooked something and you can tell me how i can minimize/maximize floating trays with a single click. I'd like to have 3 of them side by side at the top of the screen. As far as i know, to be able to minimize a tray it needs to be docked (which would be to the right or left side) and to maximize a tray and keep it open i need two clicks (or mouse over + click) at two different points.

You do know that if you just click the titlebar of one of the dialogs in your tray it will 'roll up'.
sure, but not the tray itself.
@Dave R
I'm still using v2015 because the last SU version that is supported by Maxwell Render v3 is v2017, which didn't gave me anything that was worth the upgrade, because i don't like the tray system.
I had renewed the maintenance for 2019 to keep it alive and this year to get 2021 as the last SU version, but didn't activate anything newer than 2015. But i think i'll have to switch to 2021 in the the near future because more and more plugins need newer versions, so i'm now trying to find a setup that works for me.
@rv1974
I have at least 3 trays for which i want to toggle visibility. I already use a ton of shortcuts, 5 of them are assigned to mouse buttons. I currently have defined separate trays for "Materials", "Shadows", "Entity Info" and "Smoothing" and have mapped the toggle command to some "F" keys. But yes, if there is no other solution, i will have to work with 3 or 4 shortcuts more.
@dave r said:
If you want a button to hide the tray(s) why not just click on the pin at the top right corner of the tray?
because...
@dave r said:
If you hover over the tab the tray will expand so you can work in it and then collapse automatically when you move the cursor back over the model space.
This is ok for some cases and but most of the time i prefer to keep them open until i don't need them anymore and it's really annoying, when they're closing in the middle of an operation and i have to reopen them every time.
I need a one button solution like it was before (click on the top of the window).
I really can't understand why this isn't possible with tray windows.
Since the tray system has been implemented it isn't possible anymore to minimize dialog panels. The tray always keeps its size. Is there a plugin that lets you toggle the visibility of specific trays?
Or can someone tell me how i can setup a toolbar with buttons to open/close trays?

makes me wonder if there is a more fluent tool to set constraints.
No.
I'm waiting for a usable version of DCs for more than 10 years now... There is simply NO development (not only regarding DCs). I tried DCs years ago and for me it felt like a bad joke compared to solutions in other programs like AutoCAD or Revit, especially for simple objects that only need basic operations like stretching that can be set up in a matter of seconds even in AutoCAD.
I my opinion it's not worth to invest any time into learning DCs in it's current state.
Layer groups as the only "major" new feature...?!?
I mean, yes, this looks like a great improvement after last years "features" of renaming layers to tags and groups/components to objects.
Unbelievable...
