I thought it said "Simon Bonnet (chant lead, harmonica, piano)"
Interesting, Simon, thanks for posting.

Now that´s art, Simon
TBH I was wondering if Sculptris would be a smarter choice for this kind of work.
Are you using a stylus? -

RE: Unmasked
Hi, guys
@simon: nothing misterious about it, my friend. I used SDS (haven´t even purchased Artisan yet ) and tools from Fredo6 Collection.

Unmasked
Hi everyone,
OK, so I came up with an idea to try some organic modeling while watching some reruns And it started with this predator model I made some time ago:
Then I got an idea to try to model it without the helmet, and this was the result:
As for this one, its face was downloaded from http://www.3dmodelfree.com/ and modified to fit the mechanical parts. Hope you´re going to like it.
Thanks for stopping by! -

RE: 3D person
There are some Justin Chin´s tutorials on building a 3D character in SU: http://www.giantmonster.tv/giant/?p=396
And some great examples of cartoon character modeling using SDS plugin (Artisan):

but the problem is that my selection comprises of both white and purple faces.
There is an option to "Orient faces": select a rightly-oriented face and right-context-click [Orient faces].

RE: UV Mapping for beginners
Note however that the maximum size of an image that can be imported into SketchUp is 1024x1024, so any file larger than that will be automatically downsized.
As of SU7 you can override this by enabling "Use maximum texture size" in Preferences>OpenGL that lets SU use the largest texture size supported by your graphics card (might slow down SU).
This option affects textures and images on the screen (not export or print quality). Rendering apps should be able to "see" the original texture resolution. It is recommended that for better quality results, larger images should be downsized before importing into SU, using a photo editing program like Photoshop (one that supports bicubic resampling) and saved as a high-quality JPEG file.

RE: Using Revit .rfa files
Not that I know of; but you can download Revit as a trial for a month to convert them.

Back by popular demand
I would really like to criticize your work, but there´s almost no room for that here . Should I ever try to model a car, your c&c would be very much appreciated.

RE: UV Mapping for beginners
Hi, lecra and welcome to SCF.
UV mapping in SU is nearly impossible (at least with native SU tools). However, there are several plugins, like this one: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=23725 that aim to fix that.
Some would say that ThomThom´s Quadfaces plugin is the closest to real UV mapping in SU: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdX517AryWs&feature=list_related&playnext=1&list=SP6F9410EF5C142178

RE: Best (free) way to import DWG to SU 8 Free?
If you can save your DWG as a DXF, you can use a DXF import plugin with the free version of SU:
