[REQ]plugin which ONLY reverses purple faces
-
i used reversing plugins found here, but the problem is that my selection comprises of both white and purple faces. i only want 2 reverse purple faces, the plugin reverses white faces too. is there any nice plugin/trick that i haven't found yet. i have used vbfr and TIG s face reverser. there's also one plugin with a gray toolbar button and a red streak. this makes me click on the backfaces and it reverses them one by one.

There is an option to "Orient faces": select a rightly-oriented face and right-context-click [Orient faces].

that doesnt always solve the problem

Hi,
the problem is all faces are purple (have a backface) and white (have a frontface) at the same time. There might be one of the many face reverse scripts that is view-dependent. I think you should try this one:

well this plugin reverses my materials too i have to reapply materials [too much time wasted] on the white face that faces me now.

My FixReversedFacesMaterials tool flips faces where you have applied a material to the back and it's wrongly oriented.
It flips the face and reapplied the material, keeping UV-mapping etc.
The native tool Orient will ensure ALL faces look the same way, BUT it fails if an edge has three faces - so tidy modeling means tidy faces.
Model in Monochrome mode with a distinct back face color, if you make a reverse face select it and use Reverse on it.
It's almost essential to have a shortcut set to Reverse.
I have one set, and also Orient with it+Shift. It's easy to model right BUT hard to fix later...

Hi John,
I think [Plugin] Front Face - 1.2from Tomasz (SU2TH & SU2KT Developer) is the solution you are searching.-once the tool is activated you just have to "fly" with the mouse over the purple faces you want to reverse. White faces aren't touched
-A simple icon is available to launch it

Hum! I just come back to test this plugin with textures applied: and effectively with this one too, textures are washed .

Hum!2 I'm too much in the hurry to post: excuse me..
Dear TIG I just have made a first quick test of your [Plugin] Fix Reversed Face Materials

It flips the face and reapplied the material, keeping UV-mapping etc.very powerful tools to help to export a model in a rendering application
-Fix Reversed Face Materials
-Fix Reversed Face Materials [Forced]
-Reverse Faces and Materials
-Delete Back-Materials
it seems to me that the main purpose is basically to bring materials to front, changing if necessary back textured faces by front textured faces.A common question: When both front and back faces are textured, How can we know what face is front, what face is back. The Entity Info box don't reply

I have one set, and also Orient with it+Shift.Yes shortcuts are a good idea. But that want to say that each face have to be treated one by one

Fix the face orientation before you apply materials, not after. If you did that you wouldn't be wasting time. Keep up with the face orientation from the beginning so you don't have to fix things later. Don't be a sloppy modeler and you won't have a lot of the problems you seem to be having according to your questions.
