Yes they were. Now how do I get back to the normal colors in the material tray?

Rayscaper in SU 2025
I am having a problem with Rayscaper in SU 2025.
Here is an image of what I want to render with Rayscaper:
And here is a screen shot of what I am seeing in Rayscaper 0.9.44

RE: Box Exercise Discussions
@ntxdave OK, A lot of things to improve but here is my next mode. I plan on expanding this to include a glass object inside of the cage.

RE: Box Exercise Discussions
@Box I understand what you are saying and appreciate your response. My primary purpose for all of this is to improve my modeling skills. I think one thing I see in @tuna1957 gif is that he is not using 2025. As an example when you select the flip tool in 2025, you do not get the additional drop down list. In stead you see a red plane, a green plane and a blue plane. Yup the click on the appropriate plane. Not a bid issue but learning about some of the changes are also part of my endeavor.
There is no way I can adequately express the feedback you guys are giving me. Yes, there are times when I feel kind of stupid but that is part of the learning process (especially at my age). In the past the work I did was car wash equipment layouts. I had a ton of components and then it was a very simple process to do the 3D layouts for new washes. That company went out of business about 2 years ago. I also had some issues that kept me away from SketchUp for several months. Now I am trying to get back into things as a hobbyist (I know this is a long rant) and, as I said, I want to learn/practice how to model more things.

RE: Box Exercise Discussions
@tuna1957 what I am saying is that the dimensions of thr gif are large enough that on both my iPad and laptop I cannot see the full gif. So sometimes there is critical information that is off the screen. I do not think this is your fault though. Perhaps there are some settings I need to adjust on both devices. I like your videos though and thank you for providing them.

RE: Box Exercise Discussions
@tuna1957 Understand completely.
Is there a way to make the gif files a little smaller. I am having problems viewing some of the information.
OK, Here is the results of what I did before"
And here is a screen shot of the model.

RE: Box Exercise Discussions
That is almost exactly what I had in mind. What you did was a little easier than what I was thinking though, I will fire up my computer and work on it a little later a post my results. thanks again for your response.
The I want to try one of the others that have the glass interiors. My whole objective here is to develop the skills to do more complex things like this. The things I did when I first started using SketchUp were not as complex. Now, as a hobbyist, I want to expand my skills.

@ntxdave Your correct that I use the circle at bottom for the path. Watch the gif. As soon as I finish with the array my cursor drops down to select the circle. Post up an image of how your version turned out. It doesnβt hurt to run trough it it number of times to make sure your comfortable with everything.
Hopefully I will get to it tomorrow.
I might also try the βcrossedβ part but I will show you that I fully understand what you showed first.

RE: Box Exercise Discussions
@tuna1957 while I did not post it, everything was simple except the circle at the top. I saw you click the circle next to the shaft, I did not see what you used for the path. I guess you used the circle at the base of the model (same one you used for creating the base).
BTW: I wish there was a way to pause a gif. There are lots of times even really good tutorials are posted using gif files but you have to watch them several times to see all items.

RE: Box Exercise Discussions
Thanks for your reply. In your gif, I am not seeing how you did the circle at the top. The rest is very clear. I also need to see how the ones with the Crossed (probably not the best description) patterns is done. I think I need to generate a unit like you did, then take the top surface of the upright unit and pull it so the uprights are slanted. Then take the group of uprights make a copy of the group and then flip it so that the pieces are then crossing each other.
Do you think that is headed in the right direction?

RE: Quadfrace Tools in 2025
By the way, in your video, what is the extension (toolbar) next to your Joint Push Pull toolbar in the gif? I also need to check and see if I have the Split Tools extension installed.

RE: Quadfrace Tools in 2025
Thanks Box, that is it. I would like to save a link to it.

That could mean just about anything, so No I have no idea what you saw.
First of all, I see that I was clicking the wrong icon to add the loops. Feeling really stupid.
As for the other item, I saw a gif where you drew a cylinder and then created a bunch of additional loops. You then did something where you did something to make smaller boxes inside of each of the quads and then extruded them. Was a pretty neat model but I cannot find the gif file again.
I really appreciate your responses and your patience with my silly questions.

@Box said in Quadfrace Tools in 2025:
All the models you have uploaded lately have the dotted lines showing, these are the back edges and I assumed you wanted them on. They can be turned on and off in the Style settings, the View menu Edge style or by tapping k on your keyboard.
I'm not sure what you are doing wrong but add loop works for me.Thatβs Box. I will fire up my computer again and look at things again.
BTW: Somewhere I thought I saw a tutorial where you used Quadface Tools to Fran kind of a fancy bracelet which I wanted to do However, I have not been able to find it. Can you tell where to find it?

Quadfrace Tools in 2025
I am having a problem with quadface tools in 2025. I have watched a video and want to do some very basic things. I want to add a loop in either a box or a shaft. I drew the box and then clicked on one of the edges and then clicked on the add loop tool but nothing is happening.
Can someone help me understand how to get this done?
Also, why am I seeing the dotted lines in this simple object?

RE: Iβve Been βBoxedβ
I thought I saw a video somewhere using the quad face tool plugin to draw something like a fancy btacelet but I cannot fing it anymore. Does anyone know where I can find it?

RE: Box Exercise Discussions
I have way too many to list here. After watching more of Boxβs videos, I think I have all of the ones he uses. However, I am not positive. I look forward to your suggestions/recommendations.

RE: Box Exercise Discussions
Well, I finally got things working. It took a little cleanup along the way but here is the results.
Now off to some other bot Box's tips.................

RE: Box Exercise Discussions
OK, I made sure I drew the circle on an axis (red) and then I created the arch (see image below). However, once again things are correct. If you look at the image, you will see a gap and the points where the arcs connect to the circle are not properly aligned. I do not understand what I am doing wrong.
