    • RE: Modelling a real city

      From SU help, it may work for you depending on the size of the terrain and who made the nearby models (public 3DWH or not?)

      @unknownuser said:

      The Components Browser contains an option to search for all models nearest the current imported Google Earth view. To find components that are near a Google Earth view:

      Get a current view from Google Earth. Refer to Getting the Current View from Google Earth for further information.
      Select Window > Components. The Components Browser is displayed.
      Click on the 'Collections and Searches' drop-down list.
      Select Nearby Models. Models near the current view are listed.

      hope it helps

    • EDrawings?

      This came across my RSS reader, may be of interest to some.

      @unknownuser said:

      eDrawings for Google SketchUp provides an innovative way to share your designs. You can publish your SketchUp models to eDrawings files that can be packed into a self-executable (.exe). The self-executable file contains the viewer as well as the design data.This ensures that the recipients of such a files do not need to purchase or install any viewer to see the model.

      Review enabled eDrawings files allow an unlimited number of recipients to easily query product designs and provide feedback. With eDrawings, the end recipients don’t need to buy any additional software for design review, markup, measurement and dynamic cross sectioning.

      eDrawings also provides you with greater control over your design information by disabling measurement and STL export as well as password protection.

      Save eDrawings files as self extracting executables and zip files that contain the viewer as well as design data. With eDrawings executables, the end recipient does not need to download or install any additional software. Exporting to various image formats and STL is also available. eDrawings files can also be saved as HTML files for sharing on your websites and intranets.

      That looks super cool.

      Can it make HDRI'S too?

      Can we add custom planets for sci-fi scenes? 😄

      I live in a college town, it never ceases to amaze me that they feel the need to open the bars at 7:30 in the morning for St. Patrick's day.

      cheers,

      Amazing plug in, my trial is almost over but will definitely buy this one, it is so much fun and really calls up a different level of creativity-- like having SU on steroids.

      THANK YOU!

      I had a rending of a stage and was messing around with GIMP plugins.

      Got this FAIL which was kind of cool in an abstract way.

    • RE: What is this icon?

      Its a native toolbar in the some of the latest releases.

      I don't use the shadows too often but the bug bothered lots of people.

      I saw that too, believe that it toggles the shadow strings fix that fixes the shadow bug.

    • RE: How to change Space Navigator default mode?

      Under the plugins menu there s a 3dxSketchUp menu item that should get you to the settings.

      They seem to stick once you set them.

      best,

      If you have changed any default buttons, the small button on the right side will pull up a config menu.

      I usually disable rolling and center rotation on selection.

      Love these, have you tried droopy glass (bubbles or waves) for the glass? I started to experiment but lost momentum.

      keep it up!
