Lovely stuff John. There's a pub near to me called the Walnut Tree.

Hello 007, These of Charles Voysey, numbthumb kindly posted this link http://www.voysey.gotik-romanik.de/ I will try to find the other link he posted.
JohnHi guys,
Any of you know any other collections of scanned/archived P&E drawings? Would be great to have an online repository for such info that I can refer to for inspiration!
Cheers.

Sword blade profile ...
Just a quickie guys, dashing out.
What's the best way to accurately model the blade of a sword/dagger etc? I'm thinking one of TIG's Extrude plugs, but can't think off the top of my head?
Many thanks indeed.

Awesome work! Just the hull of the this beauty scares me half to death!

RE: Marathons etc
Well I did my 5th official 10k on Sunday and it was my 5th consecutive PB. Only 58:22 but very happy.
Anyway the marathon training starts tomorrow! (it was going to be today but my legs are still aching after Sundays effort).

Portfolio Question
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to pick your expert brains.
I use SketchUp everyday in my 9-5 job where I am a designer for a company who makes bespoke play areas and outdoor equipment for schools and public play areas. I love using SketchUp but don't enjoy my job and I'm determined to get a new one in 2012. I would say I was an accomplished user of SketchUp and have been teaching myself rendering, wherein my skills are improving (but tthey're still work in progress).
So, I am wondering, what would you, as hypothetical employers like to see in the portfolio of a young*, good-looking** enthusiast looking to gain employment in arch-viz or similar? What type of renders would you like to see? What styles? In the forthcoming weeks/months I hope to produce a portfolio to be proud of so your thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I rarely get to do exciting images/renders at work and am limited in this way.
Many thanks in advance,
Lee

Just looking at "Icy Pond" - I would definitely have that on my wall.

RE: Marathons etc
This thread seems like an ago now, but anyway, almost exactly one year on from the start of this thread, I've taken the plunge and signed up for another marathon. The Greater Manchester one here in the UK.
At the moment I'm really buzzing about it and I've just started the training as it was 6 months til the start on Sunday! I've got the Leeds 10k in a few weeks and then will be focussing entirely on the marathon after that.
I've still got my target of losing (lots of) weight as the main reason for me doing it, but I also want something to be proud of. Mrs T and I also want to start a family soon, and all the books tell me I should be as fit as a fiddle!
So here we go! ...

RE: Our good friend Honoluludesktop has passed away.
So sad. Got used to his name popping up around the forums, always helpful. Heartfelt condolences.

Batch print several layout files?
I've done a quick search but nothing has come up.
Just wondering if it's possible to batch print all pages of all open layout files? Or is this just wishful thinking?
Thanks.

RE: [Plugin] Texture Resizer (1.5.6) β updated 15.05.2013
This will be a superb tool for those who like to do an odd Google Earth model, and model with hires photographs and quickly optimise them for GE. Nice one.

RE: Show us 'yer local
This is what I love about pubs, each and everyone is different but they are all, in one way of another, integral parts of communities, and mean so many different things to so many different things.

All seem great pubs - would love a drink in them all!
TIG - I love the Maggy Bank, when we lived in Wallsend we would often take a walk along the Tyne, call in at the Wooden Doll, admire the views and then head onto the Maggy. I lived in Sandyford when at University so know the others very well.
Solo - love the red phonebox outside - do they do any English ales? It seems a LOT classier than the faux 'English' bars you find in most European countries.
Rich - awesome, just awesome!
Gai - that place looks great. Exactly my sort of place. Who needs draught ales with that great selection in the fridge.
Alan - that looks more like a rural parsonage than a pub, looks welcoming, not a big fan of Greene King and it's ales though.

Show us 'yer local
I love beer, and I also love pubs.
I am lucky enough to have a wonderful pub 50 yards from my front door. It serves 7 real ales and is generally thought to be one of the finest examples of an inter-war pub in Yorkshire, if not England. It even has a bar billiards table.
So, what's your local? What pub have is the nearest to you? Any interesting stories?
EDIT: Added a few more piccies.

RE: "Top SketchUcators"
Love this idea. I mentally curtesy when I see a coloured name anyway.

RE: Can anyone help me find a texture?! ...
Thanks as ever, TIG. I will have an investigation.
