    • RE: [Plugin][$] Curviloft 2.0a - 31 Mar 24 (Loft & Skinning)

One step at a time. Here's my curvi loft skin with quads activated. I select the quads by triple clicking in SU. I hit UV map selected quads and nothing happens when I try to pick UV direction. 😞

BTW, my pick button on your quad tools is not working. Might that be the problem?
Is there a problem using Su native picking tools?

      Thanks Tom for your help,

      Lapx

      Tom,
I just tried it with your instruction and still could not get it to work. I got it to work on a flat surface.
Can you try it from the model that I uploaded? The rails are still in the model. It ask for U direction and I get nothing when I try and define U V direction. There is no highlight.

      Thanks,

      Thanks Tom,

Yes I did use curviloft and joint pushpull after skinning to get thickness. Will the joint pushpull operation destroy the quadfaces?
      I'll try it.

Thanks again Tom! You are amazing!

Interesting topic. I too have interest in somthing like this. Doesnt Chris F have a plugin that does something similar to your request, placing component tangent to quad face?

I'm trying to map a texture on this shape. I must admit I'm totally at a loss understanding the uv and quad rubies.
I'm sure I'm missing out on some powerful tools if i fail to understand these.
Need some help in explaining how these would work in this application.

      Thanks!

    • RE: PDF visibility within group or component

      Hello Tig,

I should be clear it was initially a PDF turned to a jpg. I was helping someone elses and this came up.
The image was exploded and grouped inorder to use the measure tool. I remember having this occur before as well and just accepted this to be the case. The image is used as a reference to trace over and measure to while building the model.
No big deal, just was curious as to why this was happening.

Anyway to control PDF visibilty? When editing a group or component the image on the PDF disappears and cant be traced.
      Anyone experiencing same problem?

    • RE: Modeling ocean wave

So, sorry guy's. This project is one on the highly confidential list and I can't share much at this time:( It's taken on different direction at this time and instead of doing a literal wave they were exploring other curvy shapes.
I appreciate the efforts here which are not in vain and are helpful anycase.

      Thanks!

Look up polydivider. I think you must change to polyline first.

excellent work! I really like the lastest ones the best in terms of the rendering and design.
Maybe fireplace design can have a little more emphasis but overall fantastic.

    • Acadplt to dwg

I have some old plotfiles from acad 2000 (.plt files) that I would like to convert to acad dwg format or dxf.
Does anyone know if there is a program that exist to do this. I can already view them in reprodesk I need them in acad dwg format to edit.

      Thanks,

    • RE: Drafting Table Render

Dave hit "tools" "bitmap coordinates" in the kerky menu after selecting your material with the select tool in kerky.
a dialog box comes up with the bitmap coordinates where you can adjust. The higher the number the smaller the texture.
I would recommend always setting up your bitmaps in su before exporting if possible. Another tip if you want to see what the texture looks like in kerky, hit the "v" on the keyboard to toggle to "texture" viewing mode.

    • RE: [Plugin] Randomize Sandbox TIN (Sep 12, 2011)

This is a great plugin. Is there something like randomize tin that will work on surfaces that have been subdivide or subdivided and smooth. I have a sculpture of a dolphin and would like it to look more rough like it has been carved out of rock. Any such ruby?

    • RE: [Plugin] Extrude Edges by Rails by Face

Ok, I'm inside a group of exploded rails with a circle and point. How do I select the rails after the command prompts to select them?
If i put them inside the group of exploded curves w the circle and point, it will break the perimeter curves in itty bitty lines and does not work.

Thanks Tig! sorry for my density πŸ˜‰
