Sorry, My eyes have not adjusted to this new board. My apoligise. I saw ruby and just started typing. Almost as many topics as the alphabet. The old su board was much easier to navigate. I thinks it gotten overly complicated with all the subtitles:(
However, I'm sure there is a point to all of this.

Help with ruby
I'm having a problem getting this error to go away. I could not find the delauney2 file.
Can someone give me a link. This I'm hoping will solve this error.

Ruby Organizer
Is there a better way to organize rubies vs the way I have been doing it. That is saving to plugin folder UNO. I was trying to find the desel in the menu and can not find where it's hidden.

RE: Sketchup prehistory
I started on a late version of SU4 while doing ca a work on another project that was winding down. I was lucky enough to sit next to a guy that was demonstrating it use to a group of people in a huddle. I saw the pushpull command and istantaneous shadow and I went nuts! The rest is history. When I talk about SU I always feel like I'm doing a commercial. I could not understand why no one else in my office was excited as I was at the time. Learning sketch up got me excited about architecture or just pure design again. It also inspired me to learn other programs as well. Thank God for SU!

RE: How to make volumetric light?
You can also try Global Illumination programs such as Kerkythea where it is possible.

RE: Mies van der Rohe - Pavillion
Wow! this is good stuff Solo! Your textures are right on.
The trees behind the building contribute to the color dynamics. -
RE: Hollywood search lights
Very interesting Charlie. Thanks for the tip.

RE: Replace su sky and ground
I'm already doing that guy's. It was a bad thought. the globals in kerky are much better way to go. HDRI maps are even better.

RE: Replace su sky and ground
Thanks, Gaieus
I'll try this. My next experiment is to see how and if it exports to Kerkythea. -
Replace su sky and ground
Is it possible to replace su sky and ground color with an image via styles?

RE: Town / village
Solo,
30 hours! Wow. This is incredible for so little time. These images are inspiring.
I see you had to think about how to make the snow. Did you model the snow or is it a texture? This is really good work solo. -
RE: Hollywood search lights
Tom,
Thanks! I'm using it in a night club scene and attempting to add lights in Kerky.
Not sure about the best way to do this. I may end up getting a photo shop expert to help
fake the light;) -
Hollywood search lights
Anyone have an su model of hollywood type search spotlights?. I didn't see anything on form fonts that resembles them. Like at movie premiers, grand openings, and special events.

RE: Windowwizer
Thanks Anssi, Yes too many edges not joined was the problem. Haven't used it in awhile and forgot about this.
Thanks again!

Windowwizer
I have problems with windowwizer periodically. I get one window when even after setting rows and columns to more than 1. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a consistent solution or work around.
Thanks,

RE: Sketchup 7?
I think concentration should be on modeling like simplier modeling for curvy and round shapes. I agree there are plenty of plugins that allow for su to play nice with other render programs. There should be less barriers to making complex forms, curves, arcs etc. I think some creative and talented modelers have shown that you can create almost anything with su. I say concentrate on improving the modeler with a combonation of speed.

RE: A sneakpreview to Sketchup 7
What's taking them so long? Eventually, any one will be able to render and create with natural movement of the hand. As for acurate input, im sure this could be done by pointing to a calc on screen or voice command. It's more of a natural interface for most people. Just a matter of time. Also, I see a day when materials and their properties will be already stored in the objects. Therefore no need for rendering in rendering programs. You pick stone and it already contains all the properties necessary to display. All you do is select objects with desired properties and move into place. It will be the closet thing to constructing the building in real life.

RE: Seamless textures and skm files
Todd,
Is it like this "c:\temp\Texture_test folder"
Do you put textures in this folder?
Also, what king of file is the TextureViewer file? It ask what program I wanted to use when I double clicked on it.
"C:\WUTemp" This is how my temp looks, it's prefixed with wu, should this make a difference? Thanks,
(lapx)
