sometimes i just redraw one of the line and it cut my planes ... but it doesn t works many time
the harder way is to make a component whit your curved plane and the lines, extrude all the lines along blue axis (whit a plugin named extrudelinestool.rb), copy the extruded line, close the component, paste in place, move them along blue axis to be sure they all cross the curved plane, edit the component, select the curved plane and in right click context menu choose intersect whit model, sometimes it works ...

hello, my second tutorial, some weeks ago i was talking whit a begineer on sketchup, he asks a trick : "i have to redraw my model more carefully, have you an idea to draw it whit the same dimensions?", directly i think to select edges only, make a group and restart whit those edges as references, so i need selector.rb or selectoy.rb, but take too many time to explain how to install them, then how to use them (he never heart about component and plugin..., i needed a method that don t need a plugin, so i try this and it works, so how to copy edges only of an object :

• turn render mode wireframe on, go to "view > face style > wireframe"
• edit the component (by double clickng on it) and drag the mouse to select the edges
• copy the edges go to "edit > copy"
• close the component (by double clicking out of it)
• paste the edges go to "edit > paste" (you can paste in place if needed), left click when position is ok
• hit immediatly the key "g", then hit "enter" to create a component whit the edges
• turn render mode shaded whit texture on, go to "view > face style > shaded whit texture"
• et voila, hope it helps

You're right, each medium has its advantages, but a medium of dimension n+1 can include the medium of dimension n. it is also true for post processing such as Photoshop and other rendering software, add some lights
remember that what you see on the 3D pdf is just an ... jpeg ... I allow your computer to calculate the rendering in different positions and / or animation (or I does not).

Actually when you share your work to your costumer for example, you, in the worst case, you send an printed image, because everyone can see a picture. So you work hours to produce an simple image ?

In my last job, in Paris (France), i was working as engineer on Cad soft named Pro-engineer , when i show to my costumers the pdf3d, we buy (1000euros) the license in the hour (very big costumers). look at the attachement kiosque.pdf this garden shell i built whit my father long time agoto have an idea of 3d pdf.
When i learn (alone on my free time) to animate this 3d pdf, everyone was asking me for this kind of animation. look at the attachement umid_M2.pdfsanta gift (so i hope)

This sucess was due to the fact, that almost everyone can read a pdf file.
But for each new contact i have to explain how to use a 3d pdf : rotate = mouse1+mouse movement, zoom = mouse2+mouse movement, pan = mouse1&2+mouse movement ...

what i see in augmented reality, in a few months, i just send to my costumer a file, he double-click on it, hold the pattern, an enjoy the 3d, no need for more explaination.
on the pattern you can print some fake buttons, whitch the costume push then the animation start (an exploded view for example).

are you not all frustrated to share your babies in jpeg format ?

I buy this plugin (ar-media), and, in a few weeks, i'll buy the exporter, but here the goal is to use only free softwares (no trial versions, no time limitation), i hope some teachers will catch attention of theyr students whit it.
And my method allows you to display 6 separate models (not in the first tutorial, but next) on 6 differente patterns in the same video session (for example you charge the 6 models, and choose the pattern the display model number 3 then number 4 etc).
In a few month you'll be able to display animations whit free softs (if me and my team have time to spend on it) and you will be able to interact whit it (movement, microphone ...) and surely physik laws ...

about zooming, try to turn of perspective, "camera=>parellel projection"
if you start from a plane whit many connected surfaces hit "ctl" to keep the original surface

• but line weight are locked in inch and i m drawing in millimeter, it s possible to have for example a 0.1 weight of the unit you use?
• pattern works fine
• drawing on selected plane could be fine too, on rotated plane, or select the plane with 3 points

i m thinking to not renew my autocad lt licence.
