Of course if the SKP and SKB files are on the same hard drive and you can't access the SKP, you probably won't be able to access the SKB either. Better to just make a back up on a separate drive or other media.

Alright, it's not clipping. It's because you have used a section plane. And as you must know, SketchUp doesn't create solids. It creates hollow structures. You have two options. Either get rid of the section plane and show the outside edges of the plates. The other option would be to use TIG's plugin to create a face on the section plane.

Hi Joel, Well, yes, when you upgrade, you need to do all these. Copy all plugins (be careful not to overwrite the ones that come with native SU), copy your components folder, your materials folder, your custom template, set your toolbars again and export/import your custom shortcuts. But then there should not be any issue your SU 7 installation will be in this folder: C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 7\ while SU 8 in this one: C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 8\ and they can nicely co-exist on the same computer (I have everything since SU 6 - even SU 7.0 and 7.1 separately, I think - or maybe not on this computer any more). Your system will always try to open skp files in the version you used last but I guess you will not want to keep changing what you always use.

Yes, if the geography was in scale, it wouldn't look much different than a projected image. I picture a map or globe with the mountains and seas all exaggerated and obvious. Somebody somewhere must have something.

Whaat's UV Tools plugin can help for this.

Yes, with a tree image the transparency is a feature, but if the image is person or solid object, then there's a problem. The lines in the distance show through that person when transparency is enabled. Or the background blocks the styles, if transparency is disabled. - Joel

Sorry, but I don't understand your problem. The plugin has two options to choose from: "copy to path nodes" will place your components on every node of your path indipendently from the distance; "copy to spacing" will place your components each other at the input distance indipendently from the nodes. I added a short intro movie a few days ago. I had someone give the site a whole new design. It's looking good! This is the finished package. I have ideas for more movies but it is time now to promote it. - Joel

Thanks for the explanation Joel. Its a process that I had not thought about. It sure does take a lot of time though. I wonder if any of the guys here might have some ideas on how to make the process faster.
