Uninstal the scanner, disconnect it then get new drivers and instal them and reconnect scanner. Thank goodness you have a HP scanner and NOT a Visioneer usb one Like me (pain in the arse) that requires 'one page' software junk to work.

I just switched to this mouse from a microsoft one with a click wheel. The apple mouse works great in everything except sketchup. I can't get the orbit command to work while using the follow me tool. Once the left button is depressed you can't press the center "track ball" to orbit. I think I am going to switch back unless anyone here has a solution to this (other than remapping orbit to the side button.)

...and you can change the mouse's balance with a set of weights I have no idea how to balance it correctly though (just made it as heavy as possible)

Every video format has pros and cons, but you have to understand first what video format your client can watch. On windows OS you can sure open an uncompressed AVI file, but this is not the best format to atach to an email, since it generates huge sized files. You can easy create a DVX or XVID avi file: there is plenty of free applications that can do it automatically, but be sure that your client can open such formats. There is even some free program to create FLASH videos. Flash videos can be compressed and are platform independent. Every good internet browser can play them, with the flash plugin installed. In such cases, if my client has a minimum of computer knowdlege and skills, I suggest to install Sketchup. Then I send directly the .skp file. You save a lot of KB or MB and this is sure the best way to watch what you created. Moreover, your client can fully explore your creation.

the first idea that jumps into my mind is to use SketchUp no, honestly. I would use your SU model, select all the top faces of the roof construction and look up the size of it in the entity info. then simply dra an overall shape arround the area and get its size. but that would only work if the sun came directly from above... so you will end up having more shadow than the mere top faces of your construction.

Naw, cut lists are for cabinet shops using sheet goods I think, where I almost always use individual sawn boards, much easier for me to just count the sticks I've drawn.

I'm pretty excited about this one. Never done a Public Garden before, and it's a chance to do something extra special, where alot of people might appreciate it. [image: CE50_Miki-13.jpg] The roof style on the Main Gate is my own interpretation of the Irimoya style, or Dutch hip roof. On my Roofed Entry Gates, I call it a Azumaya Roof Style. You can see more images of the same style roof here http://woodsshop.com/Japanese_gate_plans.htm This one will be 10' wide though, and at a much taller scale then I'm used to working with. [image: Of8f_Miki-14.jpg] We'd pre-fab all three roofs, complete with shingles, and the four fence sections, (make them Components, same as I do with SUp then haul it 300 miles North up the to the foot of the Sierras and Yosemite, and install it. It would be fabricated from vertical grain, old growth western red cedar, salvaged logs from Vancouver Island BC. You can see pics of us working the same stock, building a 5' wide Entry here http://woodsshop.com/How%20To/BuildAJapaneseGate.htm Such beautiful material. the fencing would look similar to this project http://woodsshop.com/closeup/deck02_7.htm

Well, it will be possible, after Nate (my client) builds it, and if he sends me pics.

Very nice Joe. I like that very much. With the winds we have around here, though, those bamboo mats would be in Wisconsin before you know it.

@unknownuser said: No, that's not a very efficient way of doing things at all. Get process explorer, it's a replacement for task manager with Way more functionality. The easiest way to spot spikes in cpu usage is to turn on the cpu history column in process explorer. Nice!

They are - there are 16 bot that have ever visited and the major ones - including Google - regularly visit (7 of them have already visited today although it is quite early in the morning). Now as we have RSS feed as well, Google Feedchecker is also a "regular".

Naw, I really doubt it's a mouse problem because I can see that left Picture Tasks area jumping around. Wonder if it's caused by some CPU spikes I've been having from time to time .. Haven't thought about that, next time it happens I'll check the CPU because the problem only happens occasionally. Hasn't anyone else had this same problem? Don't tell me I'm the only one, again.
