Task Manager Monitor
-
I've been having issues with my CPU usuage spiking up and down. I open up Task Manager>Processes and see a long list, and it's very hard to spot which Process is spiking. The spiking can happen very quickly and by the time I've scrolled up or down it's usually stopped.
Is there an easier way (or program)to spot what process is spiking?

In the task manageer, you can sort th process by how much CPU time theyre taking up, just click on the little header that says 'CPU', that might help you catch the culprit.

Geeze! that has to be one of the fastest replies ever! the incoming email notification almost startled me!
Oh that's great, clicking that cpu, now I can see the culprits at the top, many thanks for that!

No, that's not a very efficient way of doing things at all. Get process explorer, it's a replacement for task manager with Way more functionality. The easiest way to spot spikes in cpu usage is to turn on the cpu history column in process explorer.
