Doesn't the default LightUp extension offer daylight analysis tools? Not to the same degree as LightUp Analytics did but I know it has lux contours and other features.

This issue has become so bad that I'm almost unable to view SCF, even on Firefox. Any attempt to view an SCF page on IE results in a hang 99.9% of the time and in Firefox I'm getting about a 25% success rate, having to refresh 3 times out of 4 to get a page to display properly. As before, HttpFox is flagging up "snowflks.gif" as a culprit, but there's plenty others too (see report below). Can I really be the only person having this problem? I miss SCF! Thanks Jerry, sorry I wasn't clearer- I was referring mostly to wood to use for external and internal finishes. For most unseen framing I'd tend to specify pine, usually sourced from northern Sweden, Finland or Poland based on cost, availability, sustainability and that it can be sourced relatively nearby. Maybe one day I'll venture into a fully visible timber-framed construction and the complex joinery that entails, but I'm a pretty determined "modernist" so most of my interest in timber is related to roofs, eaves, cladding, door, windows, decks, balustrades and other details. That said, I am very influenced by local traditional wooden construction (I should post some of my photographs of 500-yr-old Swedish timber houses- you woodworkers would probably love them- I know I do), but as I said, I feel like when it comes to actual know-how I am lacking and I'd like to rectify that. I can't believe it taken me this long to realise that all the expertise (and friendliness) of the Woodworker's Forum was the perfect resource for me to begin this process. As a specific example is there a wood or method that springs to mind for flooring which could run from interior to exteriors for a sun room and deck? Of course internal and external boards would be completely separate so the external decking could be eventually be replaced, but I'd love to use a wood (not too expensive) which would look great inside, but which would handle the elements outside. Of course the finish could be different inside and out (and the weather and time would take care of that anyway), but I'd like the wood itself to match through rather than say beech on the inside and ipê on the outside! I visited Japan last year and, even though I have read avidly about Japanese villa, tea house and temple timber construction for years I was absolutely blown away by them in reality. The most striking feature for me was the consistent blurring of the boundary between inside and out where, especially within the larger temples like Kennin-Ji, there were parts where even the idea of "inside" and "outside" seemed superfluous. The use of the same materials throughout the construction played a very important role in creating this feeling, which in turn unites building and the context. Once seen never forgotten.

Thanks for all the kind comments! I left my laptop rendering again last night and the result is another 4 renders, concentrating on details and a view of an internal corner you don't often see in photo sets of the pavilion. The column foot detail has been pretty heavily photoshopped as the travertine slab diffuse map doesn't really stand up to close inspection, so I PSd a higher resolution example in and mapped it over the rendered one. The others have just been gamma and exposure adjusted from the HDR renders, a little diffuse glow and a little dodging on the stool cushion seams. The last one shows window frames without any filleting, beading or screws- I'll update that part of the model one day, but I thought it might be interesting to post an example of the difference that details like that can make to a render. Scott, re: the chair and stool cushion thickness, on studying more photos I agree they could be a bit thicker (uuugh, back to the vertice mines LOL ), but it's only on copies that I've seen cushions anywhere near twice as thick as in my model, see the black copies below compared with the real deal. I really had my heart set on modelling the original original barcelona furniture with bolted steel legs rather than Mies' updated cast monolithic ones that we all know and love, but I couldn't find reference photos anywhere. I'm pretty sure I remember seeing them at the Bauhaus museum in Berlin years ago- I'm going back in September so I might have to sneak my camera in. heh heh [image: FakeBarcaChair.jpg] [image: RealBarcaChair.jpg] Again, the original 1400 x 800 images can be viewed at the following links: http://i449.photobucket.com/albums/qq215/JacksonPhotobucket/7_29BarcelonaPavilionInterior090-1.jpg http://i449.photobucket.com/albums/qq215/JacksonPhotobucket/8_29BarcelonaPavilionInterior090-1.jpg http://i449.photobucket.com/albums/qq215/JacksonPhotobucket/9_29BarcelonaPavilionInterior090-1.jpg http://i449.photobucket.com/albums/qq215/JacksonPhotobucket/10_29BarcelonaPavilionInterior09-1.jpg [image: 7_29BarcelonaPavilionInterior090617.jpg] [image: 8_29BarcelonaPavilionInterior090617.jpg] [image: 9_29BarcelonaPavilionInterior090617.jpg] [image: 10_29BarcelonaPavilionInterior09061.jpg]

LOL... of course 2 minutes after posting this topic I found a solution. This neat little Windows app lets you resize or move any window by holding down Alt and right-click or left-click respectively. Being from Denmark, I experienced the earthquake Tuesday morning at the Copenhagen Airport, waiting for a plane to take me to Stockholm... Our first thoughts was...... roll of drums .....that an airplane had crashed, or something similar to 911... Well, well... It was an odd experience somehow, since we're not use to earthquakes here in our part of the world...

@jackson said: Yep, you can move it to SCF bug reports if you like. Done... There are always smaller diffe3rences between what the download link shows and the real file size but IMO a difference up to about 50 or even more percent should not count for "normal". And what if you are challenging the 10 Mb upload limit?

Sorry, I can't agree, because Bush won't be gone until January, when the President-elect is sworn in. I know, a technicality... EDIT: it appears some people are under the impression that just because Nov 4 is Election Day, that the occupant of the White House changes on Nov 5, but that's not the case - the outgoing President is still in power until 20 January. So, no "goodbye" until then - that's why I disagreed.

McCain selected Palin as Vice President already shows that he is not the best choice for President. Palin has no experience in diplomatic, and she only know nothing about economy. She do not have her plan, and she even don’t know what the Vice President should do. She cannot cooperate with the McCain complains. McCain also know a little about her. The only reason that McCain chose Palin is to make the people make the focus to him. He only want the “Wow” from the people. It is risky to choose him to be president. What people will he choose to form the government if he be the president? What is his standard for choosing people? If he be the president, will the policy also only for show off but without any useful value?

I kind of like it because the undo zoom takes me right to the spot where I had made the changes, so its easier for my mind to remember the work flow I had gone through, so I make sure to undo exactly what I want. Normally I zoom in a bit to delete something, so this zooms right back in to where I had zoomed before so I can see it undelete. That being said though, it does seem like they could come up with a way to make it a toggle to remember zoom commands in the undo queue. Chris

My guess is thta it wont work, as i imagine the drivers alter other bits of the computer that are harder to copy across, for example theres a good chance that some registry values are modified upon installation of the drivers.
