Copying printer drivers from one PC to another?
-
For some reason I just can't install the correct driver for a network printer at my office on my computer. I am connected to the printer, with the correct port, but I'm using some crappy driver that was bundled with XP as the driver installation CD's that came with the printer crashes every time I try to run it. So I can print, but only in B&W and at very low resolution. My colleagues already have the correct drivers installed (a tech guy did it before I started, but he's now uncontactable). I eventually found the correct printer drivers on some obscure part of a Sharp USA site, but they don't install/work on my machine (perhaps because it's a European printer).
Is it possible to simply copy the correct printer drivers from one of my colleague's machines to mine and if so, where are they located?
Thanks in advance,

My guess is thta it wont work, as i imagine the drivers alter other bits of the computer that are harder to copy across, for example theres a good chance that some registry values are modified upon installation of the drivers.
