besides that, the move tool would still be important for moves to where there is no reference (then you would enter a distance in the VCB) and for copying, of course.

gai and dan, i apologise for my moment of stupidity. of course i know the move/copy sequence but somehow i totally forgot the control+C way. what i was probably after is something like there is in vectorworks: control+D duplicates the object and leaves it on the same spot. then you can move it by a specific distante through a dialog box. but one can do basically the same with move/copy. sorry and thanks.

I have been having this same problem since at least 10-5-07, when I first filed a bug report. I have reported this bug twice, and the Sketchup team was not helpful either time. The first time, they told me to update to the latest version, even though I was already on the latest version. The second time, they told me it this problem occurs after Sketchup crashed. Which has not been my experience. I am on Leopard and a Macbook Pro. edit: I am using only Wifi, and am using the latest version of Sketchup.

I saw this site a while back and downloaded a few to play around with. They are very high poly models with many missing faces. Fine to give you a start but more meant for max or lightwave than skethcup. Nice collection though. Scott

As far as Mac's go, You don't want to take the battery out. The laptop will actually reduce the processing power available when the battery is out. I am not sure of the particulars (whether it reduces the amount of available cores or if it reduces the available processor speed), but I do know that it is not desirable. As far as battery health; you are supposed to calibrate the battery once a month (let the computer run off of the battery until it shuts itself down and then attaching the power supply. Other than that, I would just use it and don't worry about it. My Macbook Pro is about 18 months old; I use it 95% of the time with the power supply, and it is just recently starting to show signs of not holding as long of a charge as before, though not bad enough to replace yet. I am actually looking forward to having to get another battery so that I have two!
