I've once run into something similar - not being able to save files .styles
I use Sketchup For MAC and what I have found out was a sort of bug-ish:
- I normally use the LIST VIEW for my style window. That was the problem. I dont know why, but SU won't save any style if the window is with LIST VIEW...
- I just switched to LARGE ICON view and it worked.
How knows?... It might work for you as well.
I had this problem for ages. You nailed it! Thanks! It is working perfectly.
In fact, I knew I have to update after setting up the new sun position. The reason for it not sticking was this: in order to set the new sun position I had to leave the section view and adopt a 3D view. Then I would set the new sun position but when going back to the section view it would revert to the old sun position. I solved this problem by getting the sun’s angle while in 3d and then applying it to the sections using the tool at the bottom of the Solar North toolbar, the one that allows one to enter an angle.
I probably could have done it by disabling the Shadows settings in the scene, changing the sun and, when reverting to the section view, enable it again and update the scene.
I have a model ready with all its plans, sections and elevations saved as scenes. After weeks of work I realized my model was not geo-located. No big deal, as far most of the work goes.
However, as I want my elevations to have shadows, I decided to place North in the correct position using the Solar North extension. It works fine as long as I do not change scenes: then the sun direction goes back to its normal position in Sketchup, that is, aligned with the green axis.
What I want is to be able to change the sun's position and for each scene to keep the new position. Right now I am not being able to do it even though I updated Shadow Settings in the Scenes dialog.
Would any of you know how to make the new sun's position stick?
Thanks.

Will this do mate?
Yes. Thanks a lot.
I think that file had some problem. Later they send another that opened without any problems.
I have received an ifc file and am having trouble seeing what is in it. It is the first time I import such a file.
Could anyone please try to import the attached ifc file? I imported it, it shows as a component but I cannot see a thing. It is supposed to be an structural scheme.
I would appreciate any help.
The file can be downloaded from https://www.dropbox.com/s/sqbbo9alijia2uk/MAFUZ%20XANGRILA.IFC?dl=1
Thanks.
Thank you, guys. This is it. Perhaps I was not being able to find it because its name has been changed. And now it is no longer free.
But it is not working. Either it was not updated for 2020 or it does not work on Mac. For a $25 its installation should be flawless, don't you think? In my case, the toolbar icon was corrupted and it did not appear in the menus.
Regards.
I remembered having seen, years ago, an extension (then called plugin) the would export views to be used in apps like Photoshop, Gimp, etc. to make selection easier in post-production: alpha, material ID (materials replaced by solid colors) and the like.
Does anyone remember its name and/or author?
Thanks.
I am experiencing a very odd problem: copy/paste in place and cut/paste in place do not work! One of the simplest things one can do in Sketchup and it is not working 90% of the time. All I get is the annoying error sound.
I suspect there is a problem with this file as it has been crashing a lot.
My setup: Mac OS High Sierra, Sketchup 19.2.
Any ideas?

Hi Im using Sketchup 2019. and I really need this plugin. I put the Rbz files into plugin folder why is it not working?
It will not work this way. From within Sketchup click on Extension Manager. At the very bottom of the window, you will find Install Extension. Click on it and locate the file you want to install. This is all you have to do. For some extensions, you will have to restart Sketchup. I am not sure Lattice Maker is one of them.

saludos.

Thanks, Anton. All of it helps but I still wish it would move a little faster. Which is the property that controls it?
Best regards.

I wonder if you could help me with a problem I am having. Clothworks is running very slowly and I do not know what to change for it to behave as one sees in the tutorials. Both Outliner and Components dialogues are closed.
By the way, I am trying to create a curtain.
I am attaching a pair of screenshots of the UI for you to see the parameters I have set.
I hope you can help me. Thanks in advance.
This is great! Thanks for this and so many other amazing extensions.
Lattice Maker is a deceptively simple extension but tremendously useful nonetheless.
By the way, the changes work fine on mac.
Best regards.
I wish Lattice Maker would keep the latest input. It is very time-consuming to have to enter the same info every time I create a glazed plane during a modeling session. Also, it could show in the context menu.
Otherwise, it is great.
Never mind. Thanks anyway.
This one was free and was the one I remembered that existed. It is CompoScene's predecessor.
I am afraid not. In fact, it is CompoScene, as suggested by Eneroth at the other forum. Thanks anyway.
There is (or was) a plugin that would export a number of files to be used in post-production. The files were similar to some of the render elements that can be exported from the likes of Vray, etc. One was black and white only, similar to an alpha channel, another would fill the scene with solid colors (so that it would be easy to select areas in Photoshop), and so on.
I cannot remember the name of the plugin nor the author's name. I hope at least one of you remember this plugin's name.
Thanks in advance.
Whenever there is a bugsplat the window in which we report what caused the crash is no longer appearing for me. Any ideas as to what is happening?
I am running 2019 and Mac OS (High Sierra).
