RE: Large Hall Main Entry
Oh friends, Please forgive me!
I received no notifications that I know of that there were any responses here. I had the impression it was dead since I posted. What a surprise to discover these comments here today!
Thank you all! Much appreciated. -

Thank you. Interesting.
I could not understand why you mention using Thea and then say the 3d is only available for V-ray and Enscape.
Since I don't use Vray or Enscape, I want to be clear that these images are made with Thea, not the render soft that the plugin renders with.
As well, Thea Render is in the pipeline... which allows for Thea users to give it a try...
But, mainly... to avoid any accusations of being misleading, it lets others know that they can use the 2D plants no matter what render soft is chosen.

SUPlants Review from first time user
SUPlants for SketchUp is live now. I had a chance to try it and here's the review.
Images produced with SketchUp 2020 and rendered with Thea Render.

RE: [Plugin] follow me rotate
What plugin would be suggested to replace Follow me rotate for the newer versions of SU that would follow a bezier curved line?

RE: Triangles to quads
Is there an update on this information.... new tools that transforms triangles into a pure quad mesh?

Large Hall Main Entry
Praetorium Ingressum Magnas Pelagus:
Made with SketchUp 2019 and Thea Render, "Large Hall Main Entry" - Originally inspired by Abigail Jameson's Harbor Wall (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Xlw4D), this project is an experiment of varied fog, light and shadow with an exaggerated "Star Wars" scale that profits from the large open spaces.

I had "heard" of this, but this was the first time reading from beginning to end.
This is ambitious. Bravo. -
RE: Girls Best Friend - New Images
Very nice to see. And the second set of images really are good. Bravo.

Before giving this a try, I had the delusion of grandeur that this would take a complicated geometry and make an easy, simple representation of the asset, making a component that would have a 2D+blocked or boxy proxy. Actually, it works that way for assets that are already boxy in nature. But, this sure did not like 3D people from Renderpeople... at all. Is there any hope of having the plugin pop a complicated geometry, chew it down to size and poop out a low poly boxy version?

Edit1:
I forgot to mention that at the end of this project I could render most scenes in about 1.5 to 2 hours because I additionally hid - like the light fixtures - all the geometry, which was not necessary for the corresponding render scene... Very unfortunate and a lot of waste of time that i got this idea only at the project´s end
Always good to find this out. Always sad to discover at the end of one project. But, always great to know before the beginning of a new one.
Still made me giggle though.

Thanks, will give it a go. As well, will share this in my FB groups to revive it. I had never heard of this before. Sounds like a practical plugin to have.
