Uploaded SKP files get converted automatically so they can be downloaded for older versions but effective at the beginning of this year, they are no longer making files for versions older than SU2014.

@drafter said: @dave r said: You can ignore the message that pops up when SketchUp starts. It's a very small thing and only lasts a few seconds and it doesn't keep you from getting started on your model. And I thought it might be something important....gee wiz... Yeah. I understand. You might check the Extension Manager once in awhile to see if there are any extensions that are important to you to upgrade. Upgrade them. Do the same with the Sketchucation Extension Store tool. Fredo's updated a number of his extensions recently as well as his Lib_Fredo6 support files. If you have them and installed them with the SCF Extension Store tool, it'll show you that there are updates and you can let it update all of them automatically.

To add to what Dave wrote, there are a lot of reasons to hang onto the previous version even after you have installed the new one and it is working. You never know what issues you might run into with the new version or how soon the authors will update your favorite extensions for compatibility. You might simply prefer the way something worked in the previous version! A purchased single-user license never expires. I ditch the old versions only if disk space gets tight or they are hopelessly obsolete.

I think it's in inches and the width is associated to the bounding box.

It is possible that some plugins use pro features when available or if not available then either skips the feature or tries to obtain the objective by manually coding. The later method may or may not be completely successful. So from the users point of view the plugin potentially could work better with Pro. However this would be the exception rather than the rule.

Please explain the 3rd item in this (attached pic) dialog box. When I export images and go thru the process of making a video, the end result is a movie with a duration of about 100 time longer than I expected. In other words, the clip should be about 12 seconds, not 10 hours long. I used both Movie Maker and MakeAvi with the same results. The you tube tutorials I can find, only casually mention the process. [image: ptkM_Dialog-MSP.jpg]

Hold the phone!! Tried it again and it works fine. What threw me off was the letter "S" is the keyboard short-cut for SCALE. So the icon for scale kept appearing. So I deleted the short-cut.............And ALL is well. Thank you for your time.

SketchUp's tolerance is 1/1000". If two points are closer than that, then they are deemed to be coincident, and the tiny edge that those points might have defined is not made. Because faces need a loop of edges this means that tiny faces can be missed out if a tiny edge is skipped. You geometry looks 'on the edge'. I suspect that the tiny facets needed to get the tight bend are what's causing the problem. I suggest you do it this way... Make your object say 10 or 100 times bigger, it'll probably form OK. Then you can Scale it back down to the size you want. The tiny geometry can exist, BUT it cannot be created at a minuscule size. Another trick is to start off with the profile and path edges inside a component. Make a copy of that component instance and scale that copy up by a factor [even 1000 !], then edit the big-instance, and do the followme. Because the followme operation is then being done on the enlarged version the tolerance limit is sidestepped. Exit the edit and erase the big-version. The original size version will have been changed to match - with its tiny geometry intact... If you need to redo anything to this tiny thing remember to once again scale up a copy etc - the tolerance issue might trip you up again otherwise...

In MSPhysics, you can use joybutton(button) and joypad functions. See http://www.rubydoc.info/github/AntonSynytsia/MSPhysics/MSPhysics/CommonContext#joybutton-instance_method

@drafter said: When hovering over icons in Sketchup, text appears and gives a brief description of its purpose. However, in MSPhysics the pop-up text is helpful, but is TOO brief. A box of text with lots of words and little time to read it. I had exactly the same problem. Luckily, this issue has been addressed. You need to upgrade to MSPhysics version 0.9.8 (13-Nov-16). There are certain other improvements in the UI in this version.

Hello, drafter, The reason the camera zooms is because after the last domino falls, it unfortunately penetrates the ground, and keeps falling until it makes the camera bounds too large for the view. What you can do is adjust simulation settigns to prevent the unwanted penetration. To make adjustements to simulation settings, open MSPhysics UI, activate Simulation tab, and do the following: Change Update Timestep to "x1/2 (1/120)" Change World Scale to 10 Also, unrelated to MSPhysics, I noticed the camera was set to parallel projection. You can change it to perspective if thats desired, by navigativing to and selecting (Menu) Camera->Perspective. Anton

It exists in LayOut. I wouldn't expect it in SketchUp since nothing about dimensions have changed in more than 10 years. But who knows? It could happen. Anyone who might know if it is a forthcoming feature would be sworn to secrecy under the NDA so there's no way to know until it happens.

If it's the X dimension you need but you've snapped the Y dimension, type the X dimension followed by a comma. i.e. 12, and hit Enter. If you snap the X dimension and need to enter the Y dimension, type the comma first, i.e. ,37.625 and hit Enter.

Copy+Paste+Enter this one-liner into the Ruby Console - it will open your Plugins folder: UI.openURL("file:///#{Sketchup.find_support_file('Plugins')}") Restart SketchUp to load any newly added files...
