I designed an access door to a crawlspace. The door will swing up 90 deg's, then slide onto a shelf above the opening. I got the door to swing open, but have no clue as to how to move the door (including its hinge and servo) horizontally.

        Hi, drafter,

Here you need to use two joints: piston and servo. The piston joint must move the servo joint whenever the servo rotates 90 degrees. To do that, we need to have the servo joint to have a parent group and have the group connected to a piston joint. That way, the piston joint could move the parent group along with the servo. That parent group must also be set to 'Non Collidable' to prevent the collision interaction with other groups.

The frame and some other non-visible but interacting parts must be set 'Ignore', because their collision causes the door to be pushed out.

The model containing all the things described above is posted below. I hid all the 'MSPhysics Joints' layer, but you can re-enable it to see what it's like.

        Regards,
        Anton
