I'd give component spray a whirl. It is fast and polite. Try it with a simple 3d tick of the same cross dims as your balls, then redefine the component as you wish if it works out. [image: 0VbU_SPRAYBALL.JPG]

Here is one I did last year, before 'Subdivide and smooth', what a pain in the ass it was, nowadays it's a snap with all the new tools. [image: pumpkinxi5.jpg]

Okay, so the problem is the number of plugins. What happens, inside SU, when there are too many plugins, that causes the loss of functions? I certainly don't need to know the technical answer to that, but the Google software engineers should know. And if they do, is there some insurmountable reason why they can't fix it?

thanks you guys. I will try all of these methods. I am sure most of this is just my lack of experience with the program. I think scripting might be a little out of my airspace right now, but I will go thru the tut. You guys are great. Thx, D

In all the years I have used SketchUp, I have never been comfortable using the ruby console. I use the ruby plugin ruby script all the time, but accessing stuff from the console. . .just seemed like uncharted territory for me. forgive me. . .I'm so ashamed. anyway, I won't lose sleep over it. I seem to have all the stuff in the right place. It worked fine in V7, but whatever. . .TIG's got a similar tool and I don't use this all that much anyway. Thanks for the response. D edit at TIG. . . @tig said: Why not post in the original thread? I don't know. . it was old. . .I'm dumb. . .it's Friday. . all kinds of reasons None of em good.

Yeah. . . The Delicate Arch is one of our state treasures. It's on our license plates and a stamp. (those are things that people used to stick on things called "letters" to be mailed via a service called the" post office" ) Arches being sandstone will fall from time to time, but the Delicate is doing fine. However, people are not allowed to climb it, cut their initials into it, or otherwise deface. If you ever get to Arches Nat'l Park, treat yourself to about a 3 mile hike (that is a bit tricky--as I remember it) and as you come around the this bend, it will just appear in front of you and you will be so stunned and awestruck, you'll fall off of the cliff. . .so be careful. as far as the T-bone steak goes. .. I can't help you on that one, but now I'm hungry too. so Thanks for that one. . .

I didn't mean to sound like I was dissing your suggestion. Even though I act the class clown on this forum I am so appreciative of all the great suggestions and advice on my behalf. No worries. I know they aren't cheap. Still it is a cool thing @bob james said: Not counting the Cintiq 21UX, does a pen/tablet provide any advantages in general SU work? Bob, as well as the Cintiq, I also have an Intuous4 tablet. Although you can work SU with it, I found I didn't like it as well as the mouse. Perhaps some of that comes from use. I'm a lefty with a pen although I use the mouse right handed. I found it awkward to draw in SketchUp with the pen/tablet. It is much easier for me on the Cintiq because I'm able to look at where I'm pointing but I still don't find it comfortable. There are some folks who do use a tablet with SketchUp and like it. You might, too.
