The only problem with a SketchUcruise is that Coen is prone to sea sickness if I remember correctly maybe there are others. But the Med in Spring / Autumn is quite calm and on a big ship this is not a major problem. I DO think something could be organised along these lines and will work quietly way on it in the background. The main thing is that there is a willingness by a good number of Members to have a Conference. Mike

@thomthom said: Here's some examples of a project where a glass roof is planned over an existing street. With PB it was so easy just to draw up the paths and apply and replace the profiles very quickly. I'm about to change it again. Looks like a nice solution, pretty elegant, down to the downspouts/columns. Anything further to share on this one?

If you want use Rhino and have no problem of money, take Moi (Moment of Inspiration) It's more speedy and easy as Rhino pre-modeler, fully compatible! And with SU also with SKP export !

Thanks Solo, Really good tut. I didn't know you could use protrude on any other shape besides square/rectangle. I learn here every day. Cool render. Cheers, Jeff

I've been using SU for about 3 years now but have really increase my knowledge and skills since I joined this great forum. The script writers have made this program the best! Hats off to everyone who posts with help and solutions. Merry Christmas everyone! Jeff

I agree modelhead. The company I'm working for has invested quite a bit of money plus the lead designer has the background with Vectorworks. LOL...he does also have a Sketchup for Dummies on his desk so I know is is trying to slowly learn it. I think "The old dog and new trick" comes into play sometimes. Can't say as I blame that. I have a hard time switching to new versions of programs when I'm so use to the older version. Thanks for your input..... Jeff

Hello All, especially Sean, I am also a woodworker and would like to use SketchyPhysics and SketchUp to "prototype" various designs. I find that building a 3D item to an exact size and being able to place it exactly where I want is a royal pain. I'm probably missing some crucial information. How do you place and size items? I'd love to see a 2D to 3D tool for creating individual items for assembly in SketchUp - even a text (XML) to SketchUp converter (which I'm willing to code if someone gives me the skp structure). Thanks! Bill
