Hi all, I'm at a loss here on this piece. I need to make a stair that has a straight run and then a spiral bit. The carriage is about 1' and follows the curve. Any one suggest a method to accomplish this? Attached is a bad rough of what I'm trying to do.

Some years ago I converted a few figure components to various skin tones, but I don't think I have enough. I took a glance at FormFonts but didn't see anything that might work outright.

This is something I've had randomly happen but now has gotten out of hand. Often if I'm in folder and I select a SU2015 file Windows explorer crashes. Today, I opened a folder in explorer and selected every type of file, .dwg, .bak. doc, etc, one after the other. As soon as I clicked on a .skp Explorer crashed. I repeated it several times. Anyone experience this? I don't recall this in 2014 or any previous version.

I'm an AC and SU user. I'm again looking at Layout and picking it up slowly.

Q1. I understand that in SU viewports work just like in AC viewport in paper space, it is where you set scale. How does that work with inserting objects that need to reflect that scale outside of the viewport. e.g. A "Scale" block from the scrap book? The block may say 0, 5,10 etc, but that seems to have no relation to the actual scale of the views. Of course this must be because only the objects in view port is scaled. How does one get a Scale block to be accurate external of the viewport?

Q2. How do you align viewports with each other.

Ok. It looked in the video like the section rotations were real time. I did not get that they were scene transitions.

I was checking out the RichSection plugin video and saw something I don't understand. In the video the section plane is rotated with no obvious selection of the SU rotate tool. The plane is also the orange Unselected color as opposed to the blue when selected. Is this some keystroke while manipulating, a plugin? How is it done?

Perhaps someone can help me with this. When I generate 2D draftings, I usual insert some jpg exports from SU of different views. Though the settings haven't changed, the images print inconsistently. Sometimes they look great, other times really badly. I have the SU export setting options set to "best quality," with anti-alising and Use View size. I believe the problem is in the export from SU. Most prints are on D size paper with the jpgs about 4"x6" Again, I don't know why on a few occasions the images looked great. Suggestions?

I was considering a Surface Pro 3, but they seem to have the problem of tiny icons and I haven't found any discussion of that being solved. I would want to run SU on the Surface If I got it.

"If you skip upgrading for one year, you would pay an upgrade cost of $95 for single-user license or $150 per seat for network license, plus a enrollment fee of $50. The total cost will be $145 and $200 respectively if upgrading after skipping the upgrade for one year or more."

If I understand this, basically Trimble is raising the price of SU $50 for those who have been satisfied and see no need to upgrade every year. Calling it "support" and "enrollment fee" is disingenuous to me. More like a penalty.

I keep getting emails that my SU Maintenance & Support is expiring. What is this? I have purchased every version of SU I've had. When a new version came out I upgraded to that. I appears Trimble wants me to pay $95 (the usual price for an upgrade)for "Support." does this mean they will NOT provide patches and fixes unless I pay this fee? Can anyone explain what benefits if any this offers?

Thanks all. Installing from the extension warehouse worked. I originally installed from the Sketucation Tools plugin store. I assumed they were accessing the same repository.

So I just looked at shapes the Draw menu and saw that Torus dome etc was not listed. I found the "Shapes" plugin by @Last and auto installed. However, on startup 2015 had several error messages all linked to the plugin. I had to disable it. Any other plugins compatible with 2015 give these tools?

I'm not sure. But isn't Yosemite the latest version? If so, that is her problem, she does not want to update her current OS to Yosemite.

Thanks, but that link does not have Make 2014, only Pro 2014.

A friend of mine has Mac OS/SU Pro 2015 incompatibilities. She tells me she purchased a license but they sent one for 2015, which has issues with her version of OSX. Contacting Trimple/SU has been unanswered emails and voice-mail. I suggested installing Make 2014 to keep working till she can get it sorted out. However, I can no longer find a link to the Mac SU Make 2014 install file. Anyone know if this is still available.
