You are on a PC,right? (You could fill in your profile, hint, hint.) Click on View>Toolbars and a window should pop up that shows a list of the toolbars and some buttons. There should be a custom button there. Are you sure you've got SU2014 open?

That's the problem. No customize button. Only Reset, reset all, new, rename and delete.

    • Huh? Where are the "customize" and command taps under View?

Duh? Am I missing something? In the SU help at http://help.sketchup.com/en/article/95448

It says to create new toolbars.

1.Select the View >Toolbars > Customize menu item. The Customize dialog box appears. See the Customize dialog box for further information.
      2. Click on the New button. The New Toolbar dialog box appears.
      3. Type a toolbar name in the 'Toolbar name' field.
      4. Select a location for the toolbar from the 'Location' drop-down list.
      5. Click on the OK button. An empty toolbar will appear at the chosen location.
      6. Click on the Command tab. The Commands panel is displayed. This panel contains a list of tool and commands categories as well as all tools and commands in each category.

However, in my 2014, View >Toolbars > only has 2 tabs. "Toolbars" and "Options." There are no "customize" or "command" tabs. what's up

      maybe?

Tig's mirror works perfectly in 2014.
If you looked at the link I gave you yesterday you would have been able to download and install the Sketchucation plugin manager, through which you could install Mirror along with 600 or so other plugins.

Thank you. I missed your link. I just thought it was one of the AdMachine posts/adds that show up in threads. I had the Sketchucation plugin manager in 2013. I was trying to load the pluggins I use the most first. Mirror is #1. I should have loaded Sketchucation first.

      thanks again.

    • Old Mirror plugin won't work in 2014. Options?

I have the mirror plugin that had the later versions managed by TIG. However, it will not work in SU 2014. Is there some minor text code tweak I can make to have it be compatible? Or is there another mirror tool out there as simple? I use this constantly. I can't live without it.

      that's your problem right there.

how do you know if what you have installed in v2013 is not updated to work in v2014?

I don't. But a search of the extension warehouse did not find a single plugin I use except profile builder. As I said, if the plugins are not compatible with 2014, then it is useless to me and I stick with 2013.

I will not live with out Mirror.rb.

    • Plugins from 2013 to 2014 arggg!

I finally got my 2013 how I want it with plugins and toolbars similar to how I had it in SU8. I figured there can't be much difference between 13 & 14 right? I dragged in my .rb plugin files and 2014 had a million errors on start up. I removed them and decided to add just 1. Mirror. I can't live with out mirror. Error! I use almost all the plugins I have in 2013. I cannot find them in the extension warehouse. Suggestions? If I cannot get my plugins to work 2014 is no use to me.

      Mirror.rb error.

The standard SU views are top, the 4 sides, and ortho. Any simple way to create a view looking up? Plugin? Is there a built in up view in parallel that I'm missing ❓ ?

It's there just does not show in the tool bar icons. Either make it a short cut or go to camera views.

Is there any way to make icons for SU commands and assign them to Toolbars? e.g bottom view, perspective, etc

    • RE: @#$&% Toolbars. How to lock?

Thanks. Pushing to the side did not work because I'm running two monitors and the toolbar just when to the other monitor. Switched it off and the toolbars locked to the side. Switched it back on and they held. Thanks again

    • @#$&% Toolbars. How to lock?

I eventually got my SU2013 set up just like my SU8. However, I recently had to uninstall and re-install and lost my toolbar layout. Before the uninstall I did a screenshot so I could remember how everything was arrayed. I've made my custom toolbars for placement to the side, but I can't remember how to lock them to the side. I also have several other plugin toolbars but I can't get them to go vertical and lock to the side. What am I doing wrong?

    • Import/Paint an image on a curved surface with out faceting

I thought I was able to do this before, but I'm not getting it right. I have curved wall/surface and I'm trying to paint it with an imported mural .jpg. However, the image gets faceted on the curved part. I assume this is because SU does not make real curves. Any suggestions how to achieve this?

    • Trying to replicate my SU8 Workspace in 2013. No go. Answers

Ok, so I finally upgraded to SU 2013. I'm now trying to replicate my workspace in SU8 to SU2013. However, when I drag the 2013 toolbars to dock them, they revert to a single column/row of inline icons. In SU8 I was able to make them take up 1, 2, 3 ...rows/columns etc., depending on the number of icons in the toolbar. I like a 2 column side dock see examples attached. The first (SU8) is what I want, the second (2013) is what I'm getting. Anyone know how to make the Toolbar stay in 2 columns? Is this a feature lost in 2013? Arrrgg!

Can you not combine them in whatever program you created them in into one "page" of profiles and import that.

Made in AutoCad. I have the same problem there. Individual block imports to create the file. I might as well do it in SU and cut out 1 step.

    • Import multiple dwg files into SU in one shot?

I recently bought profile builder and would like to mass import a bunch of my molding profiles into SU in one shot to convert to a molding library for Profile builder. My Profiles are in dwg. Is there some plugin or other method for me to import more than one dwg at a time?

Wondering if there is such a thing as a "print selected scenes" plugin? I did a search and could not find anything. Or is this possible from any other method? E.g, you have 10 scenes and would like to print 6 of them, or all of them.

    • RE: How many of you have updated to SU 2013?

I'm a daily user and came here for info on whether to upgrade or not. It seems, based on the reviews here that I makes no sense. The upgrade price is not a factor. If there was some major improvement. Speed, 64bit, new tools etc. I do not use LO. I guess I'll wait a while.

I'm a daily Sketchup user in my work. My brother works in a different industry and uses SolidWorks. He sent me this question regarding a SU file sent to him. I have no answer. Does anyone here?
