Did you try it?
Downloaded the trial and going to import a model I did for a Lumion presentation to compare the differences. Hopefully, I will have time to start on it today.

I had high hopes for this, but yet again the complete lack of activity over on the Twinmotion forums so soon after a big release puts me off completely. I really wanted a good alternative to Lumion.

A little off topic, but SimLab Composer also uses the Unreal engine. It is a pretty powerful tool as well (IMO)
Does this software allow you to easily generate movie clips like Lumion? Good smooth camera paths etc?
One thing I would say is the community forum on Lumion is miles better than Twinmotions. The developer always seems happy to answer queries and listen to feature requests. Whereas Abvent seemed to lose interest in their product really quickly. Maybe a language barrier thing, I'm not sure.
I'm hoping their new version with Unreal Engine will give Lumion a bit of competition, all depends on pricing really. I'm hoping they will aim at pricing it a bit lower than Lumion to try get people to switch.

You are right. Actually, the result is correct mathematically. In the algorithm, negative volumes are normally used for holes in solids. But intuitively, we are not used to negative volumes.So, I fixed it, and it will go in the next release.
Fredo
These are not holes in solids, if you want I can email you my model for analysis.
Its a marble stone cut list, and some of the stones are reporting back as negative volumes.
@dave r said:
How about copying and pasting that volume into a new file and sharing it so we can see it?
Dave, happy to send it to you privately for a look? its a 12mb file.
@dave r said:
Cadmunkey, is it possible the faces are reversed on the volume?
Hi Dave, no I did check for this. I cant see a reason for it at all.
Hi Fredo, any reason the Sold Volume calculator would report a solid back as a minus figure?
I took volume calc from my marble model and thought something was strange with the result. So checked individual pieces and some are reporting a minus figure, which of course deducts itself from the final overall result.

I'm getting it.
It's about the 'Process'.
Never thought about it this way before.
Yes, you are correct. There is nothing to have stopped you from already having archived or deleted these models by now, depending on how long ago they were created. It's up to you what your own internal office practice is with the files you have created.
Ok, if handing over the 3d model at some point was discussed before the project began then I'd say of course hand it over if your prices included that eventuality within them.
But I do get asked for original files all the time, and I'm afraid 99% of the time I say no purely as it's not their property to have, it is yours. If they want your models, discuss a price with them, otherwise stick to dishing out 2d PDFs.
Just to catch up with this thread, I haven't had any issues at all since disabling Autosave. So imo it is definitely a problem with that function.
I think you are right JQL, todays crash was a rotate/array, so during a simple copy in a model I only just started. I have 64gig, so plenty!
Resurrecting an old thread. SU2017 has been the most unstable version I've used. Always getting out of memory errors, or crashes when simply moving groups or a similarly uncomplicated command.
Anyone else?

I mailed my country's reseller with several questions, but no reply.
Had to same problem here. Most have just failed to respond. I am certain Chaos group are missing out on a ton of sales by not allowing to purchase direct.
Just to round this up, had a different reseller email me just now confirming that I cannot upgrade from v1.49 due to the dongle. Bit angry that my usual reseller nearly duped me into spending $250 for something I wouldn't have been able to use!
@valerostudio said:
If you have 2.0 you should have a dongle. That was their only licensing system. How were you running 2.0 without one?
I bought Vray back in 2009 so no dongle. Looks like I cant upgrade then, what a weird system.
OK, so I finally got an email back about upgrading which I'm entitled to do thankfully for the reduced price. But I am required to send them some code from my Vray dongle in order to reprogram it. The downside is I don't even have a dongle?!
Does anyone else that is using Vray for Sketchup get a dongle when they purchased it?
I sent an email back to them notifying them of this but have got no reply.
That looks great Solo! Good demo for them for sure.
Thanks Andy, I will have to dig out my old invoice to see exactly which version I do have currently.
This looks great, as a current Lumion user I will watch this develop with interest.
