Bruce works fine for me too But the only interest is just for SU if you must make other things for rendering

By way of information; I have found that there is quite a demand for this type of NPR image. Standard Imagecels stuff is fine if you are going for a photoreal effect, but just doesn't sit happily with native SU image export...or with many of the styles. I used to use a brilliant Photoshop simplifier plugin called Buzz Pro to do this kind of stuff, but the company (Fo2pix) went out of business...although if you search hard enough, you might find some 'orphaned' copies floating about on the Net. Topaz Labs took up the torch and now produce a filter called Topaz Simplify, which has a Buzz 'tribute' setting, producing much the same kind of effects. It will not only produce the kind of simplified image, like the trees, which blends well with SU's minimalist 'illustrative' look...but it can also produce effects that can turn all your existing photographic Face Me components into something that can blend in with just about every style that SU can produce. Speaking of animated figures in sketchup, TIG has produced some interesting plugins along these lines which could be applied to a series of pics of a person walking / moving... at least in 2d... See these threads: Image animator http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=33310 GIF extractor http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=33359 It might be worth something to you guys wanting to develop this... Cheers Dave

Sorry Pixbae, I only just spotted your question. Follow Me is one of the basic tools that comes with SU. As I've already said, this tutorial doesn't use any plugins...that's why it's called vanilla flavoured. This is the problem with Pilou's approach; if you don't even know what Follow Me is, then for the sake of your own learning curve, if nothing else, you shouldn't be going anywhere near Ruby scripts. Learn the basics first. You'll then have a much better understanding of which plugin to use when...and how you can fix it if things go wrong. The diamond pattern is produced by simply drawing diagonals across all the quads, in a diamond pattern. Yes...simple maths. The torus had 72 segments, because that was the number of segments on the circle being followed by the template in scene 1. I reduced it to 2 segments...so it's obviously going to take another 35 copies of that double segment to remake the complete circle.

Haha! I checked the 3DW to see if anyone had done it, but never thought to check FormFonts. Looks like my memory is going too, as I apparently QA'd it.
