That grass s not only the texture itself but a component already bearing the texture. You should use the component itself to populate your model with its multiple instances. You'd better put it on a separate layer however and turn that layer off while you're modelling (and only turn it on when exporting an image or animation) otherwise your video card may die.

When youve got the brush out you can replace every instance of a texture in your model by holding shift when you paint a surface. Im not entirely sure how it would work with textures within a component, though, so you'd have to do a little playing around.

@ark said: In my work as an architect, I mostly use Sketchup to get a hold on the volumes. It's simply the best software for that purpose. Plans and elevations is done in Autocad Architecture (in my case). For a while I've been watching this community to be updated on the use of Sketchup. And it's remarkeble what you can do, mostly very detailed work for rendering purpose. But how do you use sketchup for architectural presentations? Is it for clean renderings, for simple "2D" plans and elevations, perspektiv sketches, volumes for handsketching on tracingpaper or......? I mostly use LightWave it provides 3D visualization, free cross-platform render nodes animation tools and much more.

It is a good idea, and will be put to use. Something like the following is how it might fit into what I have already: Animation.add('fog', start_value, end_value, duration (frames or seconds), easing_function) Animation.add (...) Animation.play

This is default style- [image: sGXH_style--testdefault.jpg] After saving(the saved model keeps the default style, but the model has changed the style) i get this [image: Lxs1_style--test.jpg] And i have to manually reselect the default style in order to work properly at the model.

Thanks for the advice. After all, it would surely look better that way ( but that is only my opinion ). Extruding such curved surfaces is a bit tricky to me anyway. Cheers!

Hi! Every time I need stainless or some other shiny material, I just use a big image of that material (a photograph for instance) (you can even stretch it quite a bit). Here's an example of stainless (works for glass surfaces too. Look's ok, even when moving in the model). Works pretty well for my projects even though it's not a tileable texture. Sometimes even renders quite nice (but most of the times not Antti [image: TJpI_steel.jpg]

It's a general and well known OpenGL issue. Have a look at this article in the SU Help Centre.

@remus said: Once youve got all that isntalled you first need to check its turned on in the extensions index: windows->preferences->extensions, then check the box that says 'fredoscale.' You then need to turn the toolbar on, you do that by going view->toolbars than selecting 'fredoscale.' Then you can bend and twist away to your hearts deisre That did it! THanks a ton...tools are so nice. They really should have an install instuctions file with those things but oh well im using them fine now so I no longer care keke.
