Joining lines and creating skin
-
Hello reader!
I'm modeling a car in sketchup 6 (the free one) and I'm drawing the wires to make the mesh. The problem I've found is when i copy curved lines that have been intersected with some transversal lines, they appear cut in segments divided by the final points. Ok, thats not a problem you'd say, but this doesn't end here, after copying it by selecting all these segments, i place the line in it's right place but one of the edges doesn't fit, so I get the MOVE tool and move the edge to the point it should be. Now here's the problem! when I move the edge of a line that's not divided, the line also transforms it's shape, but when I move the edge of this line (the one divided) the only thing that transforms is a small segment. The rest of the line stays the same.
Now the question: Is there a way or a tool to join these segments of the line and create a long curved line transformable as mentioned?
And as I'm already asking something... How can I create skin between two parallel lines without having to draw the triangles inside one by one?????
Well, thank you for your patience
I hope you'll help me solve this problem(s).

thanks a lot! the scrips have been really useful! but the loft tool.... well i think I really don't know how to use it yet, but i'll find out.
the rest is really cool specially the skin tool! awsome!thank you again you really saved my life!
