Thanks Gaeius, But it seems I wrote my post too quickly. The rendering time has just been very increased by the complexity of my handmade strokes and "sky-texture" as a background. It would render but it takes almost as much time as to retrace all the lines by hand. i guess my computer is'nt powerfull enough or I didn't create those elements in the best way. I'll try to send pictures of my question, sorry

Chuck, I doubt very much that it's anything to worry about - I'd just leave it.

@solo said: Now bevel all edges.. Bevelling... only with 3 segments - 12373 edges (or facets) to be created. Currently at 27% but it is getting slower. I might go out for a couple of drinks (and watch my electricity bill next time). I sected it into 4 parts however and only working on a quarter as a component (and mirrored twice). Nice model indeed and nice job, Rocky with the intersecting tip (yesterday I actually went bed instead of playing with it).

Hi, Nenad! I think it“s telling you that you have reversed normals - there should be no " blueish" faces, so you “ll have to flip them ( right click - reverse faces). In other words, I think you have the back face of the wall ( the blue one) facing forward. Oh, and welcome ( dobro dosao )

Hi, another option is, if you are exporting this as a 2d hlr, to create a style that renders edges by material, instead of the default "all same", and then turn on "color by layer". Sketchup will preserve line colors when exporting, and then, in your cad program, use a filter to select lines based on their color, and move them to the desired layer. Cheers santiago

Yes , this is what I think Toffler meant ... the frivolous is taken up first and quickly. Unfortunately it seems to me nowadays pursuit of the seriously useful is forever being pushed back. @unknownuser said: ... Buildings being built ... Yes I very much like the idea of animating in Sketchup rather than making videos, simply because it can react to actual events or mind changes.

I am not aware of such a converter, but there is/was a way to convert .DXF .OBJ and .3DS to .IV files - http://www.sv.vt.edu/future/vt-cave/VT/CAVESLUG/file_conv/ Let us know if this helps. Edit: and I think that it can read VRML files. Search this thread http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=24522 for some additional info on getting an VRML file into SU.

Hello everybody, I just stumbled upon this Texture Collection and have the same problem as Musah. 20/21 Links on 4Shared are still perfectly find. Only part 18 is no longer available. Is there anybody who could re-upload the last part so this collection is available for the Sketchup Community? Your help would be much appreciated! Best regards niX.

I am not aware of anything older. If you can think of what it was, I'd be interested in seeing it. As far as I know, these are ground breaking plugins listed (and only scratching the surface of possiblities!).

Version 3 is still pretty good - v4 has to be paid for [though not that much $], but then it does have some advantages and a nice web-dialog interface etc - I suggest that you try v3 first to understand what it does and then think if v4 has advantages you need/want... The 'Smustard' site has some more info on v4...
