cheers! registry hacks-r-us! did the trick. i did report it as a bug to Google so hopefully this make the adjustment in the next patch or version. so... the Google bug people pointed me to a feature: in the preferences -> work space is a button to "reset work space"

Quote from: John Bacus " The Free installer will overwrite any Pro installs that you have– it isn't possible to install both Free and Pro side-by-side on the same system. We have implemented a new system to support offline use of network licenses (which I think you'll like) but you'll need to add to your network license if you've got more users than your current license allows. Use the link below for more help on that or other network license-relates issues with SU8M2." This is from the Sketchup help forum

Sorry for the bump. took a break and when I came back I realized one material was on the face level while the other was on a group level, applied the material to both faces directly and they aligned. maybe this will help someone else. thanks

I don't know of an AutoCAD command named 'ALINE' Do you actually mean 'ALIGN'??? There are SUp scripted tools that do something similar - like move selected objects to be lined up with others in 2d/3d... Search the Plugins Index for 'Align'... also look on the crai Depot [Didier's site]...

I have no idea what happened, but everything was working fine on the MBP. I now believe something was wrong with the file. However, I returned the MBP and got a 21.5" iMac. 2.7 GHz, i5 quad with the 6770, 512 MB GPU. Wow, what a machine! I haven't had a desktop in decades and this is real treat for me. SU is blisteringly fast on this thing. Cheers!

On a reversed face, projected textures are usually positioned mirrored.

@massimo said: Hi Jim, so you want to get rid of the hidden geometry? If so go to "view" in the menu and untick "hidden geometry". Bear in mind that SU works with planar faces so you'll always have edges (hidden or visible) even in a "curved" surface. Ahh!!...Thank You Very Much. I was only familiar with the hatch patterns that display on hidden components. . . I didn't realize that view option had this effect on curves (when turned on). I was convinced I had a stubborn edge on my hands. Thanks again, Jim

@tig said: You need a 3pt-circle tool rather than a 3pt-arc tool to be sure of the result... I found out that in this case it is simply better to have the arcs first! Than I need to project rail 1 or 2 onto the plane on y, connect the arc's end points with each other and than I have to draw a line from the arc's highest point to the center of this line. Than I need to use EEbyRails to extrude each of the herewith created part of the projected path along those rails. Very nice results!! I hope you get it from the image. My English is sick today... It is really great and must become part of some (maybe even existing?) script. You can't do all the steps involved over and over again. (Is there some documentation for EEbyRails and Curviloft with examples so that it is easier to access them from own scripts???) Have a nice weekend. [image: OnLl_arc.png]
