Thanks!
I am considering buying one with their current discounts, so I don't have enough time to properly trial both.
Would I need Vertex Tools to take advantage of SubD advantage?

Hello,
I am considering to buy either the Subd or the Artisan extention, to try out Subdivision Modeling with SketchUp. What are the pros and cons of each one? Which one is the easiest to learn and use?
Thanks
I have the 8th gen ipad and it crashes every time I try to open a 400MB skp file.
Is this normal? I am given a warning at the beginning that the file is big, but I also get a similar warning on my Android tablet, but that one can open the file.
Would an iPad pro be much better with the Sketchup viewer?
Now i did Thanks. Esc brings you one level up. If I am several levels deep is there a shortcut to escape from all of them, or I should press Esc several times?
I usually double click in an empty space, but sometimes there is no empty space to click on (when I am working on an interior). Another way is to click on the "root element" in the outliner, but I would prefer if there is a faster way, like a keyboard shortcut.
There must be a very simple way to do this!
Thanks
Seems like Google doesn't have much use of SketchUp anymore. Maybe they will develop their own basic app for creating models for Google Earth, or maybe they even decided not to invest in that department anymore since Street View can probably offer more realistic results and fits their needs better.
Personally I don't see SU being further developed with the average user in mind. Maybe we will see SU9, and after that SU will be adapted to fit the industries that Trimble cares about.
No for-profit company is "philanthropic". In the case of Google the average internet user is part of their client base, since it is the average internet users who generate most profits for Google by clicking on Goolge ads. So Google can indirectly profit by being seen as "philanthropic" by the average internet user. On the other hand Trimble has nothing to gain from being "philanthropic" in this way, so I don't expect them to be.
I had a similar issue some time ago. In my case I didn't need to explode all nested elements, just the inner one where the image is. I am guessing that this is what Gaieus meant when he said "do not explode the component though but edit and explode the image inside". Seems like you just didn't go "deep" enough when you tried the first time, so my guess is that you don't need to explode 3 times, but just once on the inner nested element which is the image entity. Doing it this way you maintain the advantages of a component.
Thanks! Seems like a nice app. Strange that it is not mentioned more ofter here.
EscapeArtist, I assume you were using the 3G version of iPad which has GPS and that the WiFi only wouldn't work with AR.
Anybody used this app with Android? I am planning to buy a tablet but I don't want to pay for the 3G version of iPad to get GPS since I don't really need 3G.
Thanks!
From what I understand you can load models directly and not just from 3D Warehouse, right? And is that 10mb a limit of the application or you mean that this is how much the iphone - ipad can handle?
