@tig said: 'Flattery' works on PC [and probably MAC]. Are you extracting/installing it properly ? It is an Extension and needs activating etc ? Also look at:- Jim's simple "jf_UnfoldTool.rb" http://sketchuptips.blogspot.com/2007/08/plugin-unfoldrb.html and MattC's "AutoUnfold.rb" http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323&p=342121#p342110 There's also the similar "unfoldtool.rb" by anon, that I have but can't remember where from... The error was something to do with "encryption", I just reinstalled it, clicked "OK" a bunch of times and it seems to be fine Thanks for replying as I'd probably have given up on it otherwise.

PipeDraft, Yes, it Bugsplats before I launch anything. In fact, it Bugsplats as soon as Sketchup opens and the toolbars show up. And no, I do not have any of the quarantined plugins installed. I will try it again later and report back. Thank You, Paul

Or you can have a set of simpler models (boxes) as components and more elaborate ones saved as skp files. Then either reload each manually when needed or use TIG's xref manager plugin.

Thanks, peebo, for pointing out that next video, and the rectangle fill technique, and so forth. It has been a long time since I watched these, and I may have forgotten them and fallen into bad habits along the way. I helped you and you helped me- thanks.

@daredevil said: @eric_j said: Hello Apologies if this has been asked and answered elsewhere.... Is it possible to embed a fixed offset function - or variable offset, for that matter - in a dynamic component? For example, I'd like to be able to have a complex curve in 2D with a similar curve offset so that when X or Y is scaled on the main curve, the perpendicular distance on the offset curve stays the same. Can this be done? Does it need scripting? Thanks for any thoughts... EJ With DC, you can copy, move, rotate and scale a shape but you can't make an offset. If you need to do this dynamically, I think you must script in Ruby. Didier Thanks; that's what I suspected....

I am using Snow Leopard v 10.6.8 and have full read and write permissions for my complete hard drive. I have tried to save this local collection in my Documents folder as well as the hard drive / library /application route.

Trogluddite! What a champ! Thats amazing what you've done. Thanks so much. The TileGrid plugin works perfectly, and the instructions you gave to install it are idiot-proof! Just what I need Thanks also to sdmitch, thom thom and tig for the tips they gave you. Trog I think you're ready to join the Axis of Awesome! Thanks to you too Box. Your input on this was very much appreciated. Cheers Mal

Thanks Nigel, I thought this thread was dying a slow death.... I don't use ACAD myself but do import / export to it, hence the question. I have used '.' [fullstop] in SU layers but don't know how it exports. Maybe a test export with many punctuation marks should yield an answer...

Thanks guys, I got it done, may have been a good thing as I found a couple of issues that I fixed in CAD before creating the mesh.

I save the file using the reverse date as a prefix to the file name. Eg, 181024 House1.skp, 181025 House1.skp. Easy Peesy.

@box said: I'm not sure what you are asking about. If you are saying photomatch isn't working because the photos are different, then there's not a lot you can do about that. Photos for such things are never accurate, measurements and drawings are a better option. Photos usually only give you a way of checking exactely what is is you are trying to model. I'm working with what I have available. Otherwise, there are options available to create great 3D models from reference pictures, they are just a bit more accurate than what I need for this project. Ironic perhaps, but true. http://www.123dapp.com/catch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsBg-m2hrIM
