I am having the same crashing problems. It seems to crash while using pretty much anything that changes somethings shape, and crashes very often. Yes group the retaining wall entities. You might use "Tools on Surface" plugin to draw your profile on the group, but not necessary. The group should not affect the SB from contours process. I like to make curves of the contours with recurve rb. The process will also assure you've got a continuous set of segments for each contour. You can also use simplify curve routines (Fredo Tools?). But definitely look at Toposhaper that resolves some these requirements. There should definitely only be the single contour set, not a flat surface or second set below. To raise the contours from a flat set, there are various methods, You might make a vertical array of edges or guides to snap to your intervals. I think the push-pull method is more trouble. Look for Daniel Tal's 2008 lecture video too. You will see more on SB work. https://sites.google.com/site/3dbasecamp2008/

yes if facet is not inclined and part of a volume! Else you must copy move it on an empty place Select only the face by clicking on its somewhere on the middle (not the edges! ) Align axes make that describe above "delete the short edge > create tangent arc" and copy move the arc kill the rest For reset axes, right click / reset above one axe [image: AB2I_inclined.jpg]

@rose123 said: Box -regardless, in version 8 it asked me if i wanted the component downloaded to the model, anyhow, and the choice was given to download it elsewhere. dave says he still gets that screen, so i guess i have to figure out why i'm not. i do appreciate everyone's input, it's a big help! If I implied I get that screen when I'm downloading through the Components browser, I apologize. I don't get that and never have. I only get that option if I have my internet browser open to the 3D Warehouse. when I choose a 3DWH model from the Components browser it comes right into the current SketchUp model. Don't spend anymore time trying to fix something that isn't broken.

Had you included your OS etc in your User-Profile you might have got a MC user's response... Perhaps it's an issue with v2013 MAC exporter and text ? Can I suggest you get in touch directly with SketchUp's support side - as a Pro user you should get an answer - even if it's only, "It's a known bug on MACs, we are working on it..."

I think you were meaning that you couldn't get the tools to lay up on the side on the MAC, like the traditional two columns of basic tools: Draw, Move, Measure, etc. on PC I re-installed Sketchup now now and was also confused about my toolbars. found them again under >View >Tool Palettes >large tool set. it has most the common ones leaving space on the top row for 'extra' icons. hope this helps, if it's what you were getting at.

In Pro when you Export a 3d DXF or DWG there is an options button on the dialog. This opens an options dialog in which you can specify what will be included in the exported data. One item is 'Construction Geometry' [aka Guide-lines and Guide-points] by default I think this is unchecked... Check it and they export as XLines/Rays and Points in the CAD version...

So they're only needed to download plugins? Not for accessing the Warehouse through the browser, or to access the Help page or anything else? I notice, too, that when I access the Warehouse though the components browser, the option to download directly into the model isn't there anymore. Wonder why.

I can only reproduce it while Joint Push Pull is in the top bar second row down. If I take that out of the bar it does not happen. can someone try to reproduce this?

That was my idea Gaieus... However when I unhide all I'll run into issues. I think I'll need to put the guide inside of a group and then hide the guide inside the group. that should leave it there. Then of course I was a little worried that i would do something to all my models I might come to regret later for unknown reasons.

@Tim Like most 'Extensions' Fredo's tools usually have a Plugin entry which loads the Extension setup code and the Extension itself - with a similar name. If you use the SCF Plugins Manager to Disable any Plugin, then it will not load when SketchUp restarts. If that Plugin also happens to be related to setting up an Extension, then that Extension is not set up, and therefore it is not visible in the Extensions Manager at all. However, if you Enable that Plugin, then it will load when SketchUp restarts; and the Extension will then be visible in the Extensions Manager - its 'state' will be as it was last time you used it [Enabled/Disabled] So to reiterate... All Plugins [.rb/.rbs scripts in the Plugins folder] can be 'Managed' [Disabled/Enabled/Temporarily-Loaded and Uninstalled]. Only an Enabled Plugin can set up its related Extension. An Extension can be 'Managed' when it is set up: its last 'state' is remembered across sessions. Because you can't dynamically 'unload' a Plugin or an Extension the effect of Managing them is not always obvious until you restart SketchUp. Enabling things is obvious, as the thing loads and changes color to 'green' in the left column to remind you that it is loaded and will reload on a restart too; but Disabling it will still leave the thing loaded, so its shown 'red' in the right column - to remind you that the change is only completed by a restart: and also a Temporary-Load from the right column leaves it in there, but colored 'orange' - again to remind you that it is currently loaded but it will not be loaded after a restart...

You have to change the render type to Vector in LayOut. Apparently you're not doing that.
