Where do I find version 8?

I just got Sketchup Make 2013, and it crashes constantly. I get about 2 minutes into a project, and surprise! Program is not responding. Thing is, I remember using Sketchup before at school, and it was awesome - but I don't remember it crashing with this much frequency.
Could someone point me in the direction of how to fix this? Some problem with installing, maybe?
