@joe wood said: Is yours set at 10? I had to take mine down to 1.5". I guess it is but that's a default from the original template. Never changed it because I don't need to use text and dimensions in SketchUp.

There isn't a tool to specifically lock the direction the camera moves but you coulld use the Position Camera tool to place the camera for each scene. You can use guidepoints or geometry to identify where the camera needs to be placed for each scene. Out of curiosity, how will you use this with your model? Quickie example: Camera positioned at each end of the edge shown selected in the foreground. [image: pWfM_Screenshot-3_26_20229_12_37PM.png] Result of transitioning between scenes. Click on the picture to see it move. [image: ZVyI_PC.gif]

a variation - once you have the "wires" laid out, ctrl-a to select all lines - examine the length in your entity info, then create a component with the name like "elec_wire_256" for 256 inches (or whatever your base measure is. round up then when you run the report the wire components are listed in a grouping and the various lengths. i also include wire type/size such as "bx12-3" or "nm14-2", etc as part of the name... so "elec_wire_" + "bx12-3_" + "256" then i can readily parse it into a spreadsheet by splitting on "_" underscore.

@rich o brien said: Clean and efficient forms typically need good topography. Whilst lofting tools, like CurviLoft, may seen like a good choice there are limits to what you can achieve. Like DaveCapitalR says...it's hard to decipher the issue. Looks like some of your edges have hardened normals. Keep going though you'll brute force in the end Hello Mr.Rich O Brien, Thank you for your feedback. Regards. Nick 12

Presumably you are describing furniture with curved surfaces. If you are going to use the projected texture method you need to create some visible edges to limit where the texture will get applied. Here's a quick example with visible edges about halfway up the radius corners. [image: DAc0_Screenshot-3_26_20228_35_08PM.png] After you've applied the textures you can hide those edges.

Thank's a LOT Pcmoor. This a great help for me. I feel more "normal" and not so alone... I will take method 2. So if I understood well, I must rebuilt everything... No "magic" trick to eliminate old scaling of groups, and let the geometry like it appears without this "memory". Groups keep "memory" although one make them unique...! As there is no mirror copy, the only way i found is to apply a scale -1 in X or Y axe. In my project, i have a lot of components that are symmetricals and I've build all my models using this scale -1, without knowing this little "detail"... Last, When you say groups "CAN" retain, and "scaling can easily become out of sync", is it unpredictable? or is there any ley, here? Sorry to insist, but i really like to understand and avoid future problems!!! Really very grateful for your support and help. Xtian

Be aware though that By Axis is not a perfect tool. It has a tolerance that does allow things to be very slightly off axis and still show the colour. It is more of a general overview than a perfect accuracy checker. We have seen cases where people insist their model is accurate because the colours says so, but there are still errors buried in the detail. If you suspect something is out of alignment the Text tool can be used to check the coordinates of endpoints. [image: qobv_OnOffaxis.gif]

LOL! Seems to me there's Lidar data available of at least most of England but I'm not sure if you can get that in a form that can be imported into SketchUp. I looked once but not very hard. Maybe you'll have to get one of those GPS gadgets and walk around collecting spot elevations. Then you can convert that into a point cloud. I've been wondering about doing that for my own property. Honestly, I expect if you need high res terrain data for single parcels of land, you'll probably need someone on the ground.

Hi everyone, I'm sorry for my slow response to your replies. Thank you for your interest. I'd be extremely grateful to the SketchUp community to receive any generosity. I'd be happy to pass on those skills I've learnt too. I like helping people. Any help, even if you can cover some of the areas written below would be fun and interesting. Here's some further information for you all in being a bit more helpful compared to my original post. I've received recent help but it would perhaps be nice for someone who enjoys getting involved and sharing their knowledge as I'm quite enthusiastic. (I'm presently in the office now and happy to call or video chat or just chat. So to better help understand my dilemma (requirements haha) and to give anyone interested in helping. I've written this below. We are a Garage interior E-commerce business selling modular metal storage cabinetry systems. Focusing on residential home garages. As a no-obligation service we also provide a design & install service. Presently I've been using SketchUp Pro at an amateur to intermediate level where I draw up their garage from the plans provided. Due to a lack of experience, I have old legacy stuff to shift through. I've made a "Studio" SketchUp Profile which holds just a small handful of components (cabinets) sitting there visually ready to move and drop into position. This obviously requires addressing where a library folder needs creating. I've found a handy piece of software that works well with SketchUp called collector thanks to SketchUpEssentials's youtube video. Materials and models can be stored and dragged and dropped into a clean load of SketchUp Pro. I have to tidy up my act quite a bit. The primary aspect of all this is to improve workflow for a new designer to come in and hit the ground running. Ultimately, the object is to correctly group components, whilst also being mindful of the component's attributes such as weight, colour, product reference codes, price etc. The end goals are as follows: Have a portfolio of all the products (catalogue is an inch thick) Include the necessary attributes. Be able to export to an excel sheet or a better method to then... To then import and populate our quotation accounting software (to save time) We also supply dimensional drawings (in the process of looking into SketchUp layout). Including 3D renders. I've also done a tiny bit of research on LFC but that has just blown my mind. I'm only becoming mindful of properly using Tag and outliner whilst grabbing loads of useful extensions. I have begun to draw up the cabinets but I have the sinking feeling that if I don't do this properly, then it's going to cause me more work in the long run. I wouldn't enjoy the thought that I've drawn all these models in an unetiquette manner adding or placing displaced information poorly. The models will be used for the foreseeable future, about 2 to 3 years by new designer members and members of staff inexperienced in using a more complicated system such as AUTOCAD. WHich will be otherwise used by employed trained designers. But that's a long way off. Many thanks for the interest as far. It's lovely to see. Please PM me and I'd be happy to send my contact details and arrange a short meeting to see whether you can help. It'll just be us two on discord or something, nothing overall formal as I'm sure you'll appreciate as do I! All the best. Hexo

@abcgsketch said: Hi, I bought Fredo's plugin bundle and I need an invoice of the purchase. I can't find any information how to get an invoice. Anybody has a hint? Thanks Generally speaking, I'm in the process of switching to Blender because Sketchup has been steadily getting worse with each new release since 2018. However, I must admit that I am missing SU's simple workflow for precision design since no plugin for billing process has yet made switching between the two options possible.

Hi, They only thing a student needs is a free sketchucation account and Sketchucation Tools v4.2.3 Download Sketchucation Tools here... https://sketchucation.com/resources/plugin-store-download ...and install it into SketchUp. Login to their free account and install and extensions they want through our tool. It also handles licensing so it is needed to help you manage your seats etc. Then they can trial Fredo's tools for 30 days or purchase as needed. If any run into trouble they can email support[at]sketcucation.com
