Here are a couple of laminate textures that I have taken from http://www.krono-original.com/. Basically, I have used Krono's floor studio and taken a Print Screen, and then I have edited the image with Gimp. Also, I have used Bricks'n Tiles software to create seamless textures. Probably these textures are not usefull for professional use but for hobbyists they should be quite ok. A question or two for Massimo and Andre51: Where are you getting your images from? Can you make longer seamless images? There are patterns in the grain that repeat along the length of the grain that wouldn't in reality. I guess it would be alright for synthetic laminates. [image: ewaf_cherry.png] This material is 9 feet long. What if you make something this long seamless across the grain? The pattern will still repeat much like slip matched veneer but at least it wouldn't repeat along the length of the grain. Or you could mirror alternating "boards" and get book matched veneer. Holy Toledo..... I think I did it in paint..... Not exact, but will work.for now.... But I'd still like to know how to do this properly, as the texture is somewhat different from the first when tiled..Thanks :O) [image: eoE4_zushibricklganew.JPG]

I guess I could improve the manner I try to make a point. Suppose we have the stringer above. The stringer is made of repeated segments when scaled along the red axis. Is it possible to scale the component on the green axes so that the stringer repeats horizontally every 16 inches? The goal is to have a deck stair that satisfies variable height and width. Therefore, you can have, for example 13 steps vertically and 5 stringers horizontally (making it a 60" wide staircase). In the example above, in order to get the second copy of the stringer scale, I had to rename it. But renaming it, disables the ability to scale the staircase on the green axis. There is no way I bash sketchup, especially as I am as green as it can be, and have limited time to give to learning it. Certainly, as far as dc are concerned, there is very few documentation that goes beyond the basics which is a shame.

Since that link doesn't directly point to your answer and someone else searching here may want to know, the materials don't appear because you painted them onto the back faces in your second example. The OBJ export only shows materials on the front faces.
