A variation to add to this post. This window does not use a dummy frame to aid placement. Instead, The window component is exploded straight after insertion. Each cutting sub-component and the window itself has a red 'Gizmo' as part of the component. These are placed away from the wall so they can be selected more easily. All the gizmos are occupying the same position. Now, by selecting the gizmos, the window plus it's wall cutters can all be moved together. The gizmos are on a layer (Tag) of their own and this can be turned off when not required. I have added a simple setting out range for bricks, in this case 225mm for a brick and one mortar joint. Using this, windows & doors etc. can be set out to make the bricklayers' life easier! This post is old, but I like Mr. Cutout too, Of course they are more for rendering and not models. OK for street scenes but, REALLY hard though to find bland people just standing, maybe talking, when you need only one or two in a residential rendering for scale. (if you pay you get better poses it seems). So many are distracting, inappropriately dressed, doing distracting actions or poses. One thing I like is all the search filters for lighting etc. Quality is great IMO.

Google and 3dWH are your friends... Look for 'Privet Shrub' [Liguster is just the German name !] https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/ua1e68d95-7773-4936-8f80-d12834dd060d/Privet https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/u74c2fbec-f0b6-4235-bc37-72e54df2f074/cheyenne-privet or 'Box Shrub' [or 'Hedge'] https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/search/?q=box%20shrub https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/search/?q=box%20hedge There are lots of these, and I suspect no one could spot if it's one or the other shrubs !

Each style file contains a doc_thumbnail png image. You could edit the image in an image editor. To access it you would need to change rename the style file from .style to .zip. You could also replace the image with a new one but you would want to make sure the new image is exactly the same size and resolution as the existing thumbnail image. The default thumbnails are created from a SketchUp file which, on the PC is found in Program Data/SketchUp/...Templates. You could open a copy of it and modify it with your style and export an image to use for the style thumbnail. Or you could modify the model so you have a different appearance for the thumbnails for new styles going forward. I would keep a copy of the original StyleTemplate.skp around so you can go back to the original if you want. Note that won't change the existing style thumbnails so it's possible you could create a custom thumbnail model for just a limited set of styles if you wanted. You don't need to access the File Locations in Preferences. Just create a new Materials folder in a location you can access such as My Documents as you would create any other new folder. Put the SKM files into that folder. Then, in the Materials panel, open the Details menu (to the right of the drop down list). [image: zDhg_Screenshot-8_5_20197_37_37AM.png] Click on Add collection to favorites. [image: 0G07_Screenshot-8_5_20197_37_52AM.png] This will prompt you to navigate to and select the folder you created. Choose Select Folder. From that point on, that Materials collection should appear in your drop down list. FWIW, you can sort your materials into sub folders if you want. For example I have a folder for my own wood grain materials. I sort the materials by species. I've just added folders inside the master "Wood Species" folder. [image: 8UXz_Screenshot-8_5_20197_38_30AM.png] If you want to add materials from a model one at a time to an existing library, you can open the secondary pane in Materials, set one to In Model and the other to the desired library. Then drag the thumbnail from the one to the other. [image: LXLa_Screenshot-8_5_20197_43_33AM.png] If you wanted to save the entire In Model library collection as a local collection for future use, open the Details menu and click on Save as a local collection.

They actually work correctly as intended. The images are watermarks which are set to stretch across the entire model window. You have the option to edit the background settings for the style to add ground. [image: TaSu_Screenshot-7_11_20194_46_22PM.png] If your model has terrain as geometry, there's no need to edit the style but it's within your control to change them to suit your needs.

Hello everybody, I just stumbled upon this Texture Collection and have the same problem as Musah. 20/21 Links on 4Shared are still perfectly find. Only part 18 is no longer available. Is there anybody who could re-upload the last part so this collection is available for the Sketchup Community? Your help would be much appreciated! Best regards niX.

No problem-sometimes you just need something specific and if its something a client already has or will buy, it makes the model personal. It doesn't have to be a pillow shape for the image file as long as its a clear, flat (no distortion)view of the fabric

Also, if you have a Simlab Composer version compatible with your Sketchup version: download the SU14 version, open in Simlab Composer and save as a .skp

@hectormc said: Hi i just bought profile builder but have not yet learned to do diddly squat with it. how do you use these profiles to make lines? @ccaponigro said: So here are the .skp files. This only works with Profile Builder 2 Assembly tool. I made dashed, hidden, center, phantom and even batt insulation. They only use a couple components and just repeat them so I'm guess not much in terms of computer load. The center and phantom have to be a specific length or they will finish short or long of the definition line.(I'm going to work on this some more. I really spent very little time trying to tweak them. But for me being able to keep things coordinated right in sketchup is worth a little fuss. I was really surprised at how easy the batt insulation was. I also like dropping in center lines on my openings so I know exactly what I'm snapping to in layout. They are not profiles but assemblies. Use the assembly tool in the same manner you would any assembly. Draw with the path tool or select a path and apply the assembly. I should say I have switched to doing all my linework in Layout. The new make scale drawing has made it soooo much easier.

thanks! i'll give it a try and try to remember to report back. i have traditionally changed isolated parking stripes in autocad, convert to plines, give them a width, them wblock out for import to sketchup which works well enough. trying to avoid cadwork thought and streamline the process in SU. ALSO, Vali Architects, "Instant Road NUI" has great many features including "Striping" which will take SU lines, convert them to faces and drape them onto a surface mesh. thanks, bob
