It would be better if the AI merely afjusted the light rather than buggering the textures though. I think that most if not all Ai Image programs allow for comtrol over how much it can change materials

Humanity's leadership leans towards conflict, cruelty and control. The powerful prosecute to keep power. It's sad. The eventual 'winners' are still losers. Even though we know it we plough on regardless. Repeating same scenarios over and over. The war on drugs, the war on terrorism, the war on disinformation, war on free speech, war on gender....its always the same. The world needs to demilitarize and get back to just getting along. We live in a cloud of pessimism and distraction. Hopefully the fog clears and the next generation have more sunny days.

Somehow I picture Trimble charging a fee to use other people's plugins. Maybe charge a licensing fee to developers.

Sorry folks, my sense of humour got the better of me and I know marketing types are getting a bit 'radical' with their concepts. How this will encourage folk into a paid version from the free I do not know but good luck to them. Marketing, a shorter way of saying, Obfuscation...... The company I bought my pc from earlier this year has on site repair, however, the contractor will do nothing unless I agree to them charging me a £250 software reinstall fee. There was no mention of this when I bought the pc so they can shove that where solar radiation is not an issue. Marketing.....

Best of luck with which ever decision you go with. I just bought a new Dell XPS 8950 for work and I love it! Mine was a bit over $3k but it has to last for 4-5 years. It runs all my applications with ease. Specs are listed under my posts.

@gus r said: The red one is right here from 3D Warehouse: Cairo Metro -Line 1 I changed the material to red. The trick to finding a lot of models in 3D Warehouse is to search a keyword + "3DWarehouse" in Google images. 3DWarehouse's search engine is practically useless. And in this case I translated "train" to Chinese which is 火车. You can use other languages to expand your search too which will result in finding more models sometimes. Thanks Gus. I never or hardly ever search using 3D whorehouse ans use your method, but I missed this one perhaps because of the original colours

Universal importer will do the job, I find the file reduction system too clunky but the actual importer aspect does a fair job so far mate. https://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=71951&hilit=universal+importer

Thanks Gus and Rich. I contacted sketchup texture club about this texture. Within 12 hours they generously came up with all the required maps and emailed them to me I highly recommend this site and have been using them for years. Definitely bang for buck with an enormous range of high quality PBR texures. Great support and they have free stuff as well. And if you want the pror Large PBR materials it is 14 USD per year https://www.sketchuptextureclub.com/ [image: YgnY_Screenshot2023-08-05085243.png]

Cheers guys, here is a subtle thing that I have tried before on old buildings. The nicks and dents take a while but it gets rid of straight lines and once the material with normal maps it adds authenticity. [image: k7kW_Dents.jpg]

It's a genuine move forwards so post away imho. A humdrum topic but if we are going to be serious about caring for the planet, a vital one. Proper stining if we get it wrong too........
