Something I am looking at for a wall, is a dragon 'breaking through. the wall with a light source insert in the chest. Just mucking about tbh.

@solo said: Thats an awesome model, and great rendering. I use vray and Max9 for site ads and brochures but find the time setting up all textures cumbersome, do you have any advise? Have you tried vray for SU yet. thanks for the comment;-) Well, there are few ways of exporting your model with textures directly to max. (uff, I wrote a couple of tutorials couple of years ago on the old forum, but they are deleted, so here me go again, but short version;-))) Ok step one, model your model, and texture it in SU. then click/ export / single object (if you use SU 6, or "by geometry" if you use SU 5 (recommended for export is SU 5)) materials; export texture maps / preserving texture coordinates (all of your geometry is smooth in max) if you export "velding vertices", than you will have faceted faces in max, and you don't want that;-))) units MUST be set on meters.... click EXPORT Ok, when in max Import your model, click materials (M), then choose pick tool, and you will get a subdivided material box. (for example three materials), go one by one, click; Default/ chosse vray mtl, and open ; DIFUSE, and click on the texture taht should carry the same name as your material, and click (show material, that little blue rubic cube;-))) you shoul be able to see your SU material, which have the ability to gain your VRAY attributes and that is it, enjoy;-)) I hope this helped you a bit, if you don't understand, send me a PM, an I will be more than happy to help you;-) cheers

Ah, that was the "no render needed" or what topic's building, right? Really nice (although you must have done something to it finally). To me (maybe just because the sun is now shining onto my screen) it is a bit dark so I could not get many details.

dylan, why don't you use the installer? it extracts the files in the right folders. just remember to delete the old exporter. not only does it have a toolbar, after exporting, it asks you, if you want to open the file in kerkythea...

gonna mess with this a 'little' more... but its really been keeping me from my 'work' this week..haha.. i did really want the logo ball to be different.... it was supposed to be orange, but ended up way too close the red..and i like the red balls too much to make them another color i will give the DOF a whirl..and maybe try moving the branch to the lower right..i suck with composition...oooooorrr..i might just leave it like this and keep it simple added some hooks [image: ballsrackrev1x3lr5.jpg]

I suppose I should mention that the middle image did have some post-processing to add in the fog effect. Regarding Kerkythea and Podium: As you may know Podium uses the Kerkythea rendering engine, adding an easier to use interface that works inside of SketchUp as a plugin. What is less known is that if you have both programs, you can use your favorite pre-sets from Kerkythea with v1.5 of Podium. Just copy over the .xlm presets from KT to your Podium installation. Where to put the copied files should be pretty obvious. Then when using Podium 1.5 you'll find those KT pre-sets available for use in the dropdown pre-set selector in Podium. Most of them will work and for those who also use Kerkythea it can add more familiarity to the Podium experience. Regards, Ross

Thanks all of you guys for the positive feedback! I made them for a subject there is no company involved. I made the details in AutoCad first in 2D, then I exported them to SketchUp, finally I rendered them in Vue 6. Which is in my opinion a great render program! The insulation was a bit tricky to do, it's a yellow rock structure Yes something went wrong with the bricks at the roof detail. There was something with the scale. I'm glad you liked them I'm planning on making more details in the near future. Maybe a window detail or a detail at the door entrance. Greetings, Stefan posted by Stefandevos

That's what I forgot to do. I didn't add TG_ to the thin glass material. Thank you! Nomi

This is my last render of this amazing model...for now. It is similar to one that I already posted, but I improved the window a bit and rendered it a much higher resolution. Oh yeah...I added the crucifix (downloaded from 3D warehouse) [image: final_small_193.jpg] See the link below for the 1600x900 version. Rendered using Indigo. http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=26&g2_itemId=21748

I don't know why we're getting the 404. They are still on the server. Going to try another link and see if it works. It goes to the whole gallery for this house. http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/sas/Gallery/nomicrowave/14-140

Dan Looking fantastic, the best part is texturing and rendering, nice to hear you chose Podium for render, version 1.5 (out very soon...in days) has a GI setting that will make your design "pop". feel free to ask if you have any questions. cannot wait to see the final rendering.

The colors were all chosen by the designer. I didn't have a say in it The company logo does fill up the wall quite a bit, tho. Thanks James!
