I'm pretty excited about this one. Never done a Public Garden before, and it's a chance to do something extra special, where alot of people might appreciate it. [image: CE50_Miki-13.jpg] The roof style on the Main Gate is my own interpretation of the Irimoya style, or Dutch hip roof. On my Roofed Entry Gates, I call it a Azumaya Roof Style. You can see more images of the same style roof here http://woodsshop.com/Japanese_gate_plans.htm This one will be 10' wide though, and at a much taller scale then I'm used to working with. [image: Of8f_Miki-14.jpg] We'd pre-fab all three roofs, complete with shingles, and the four fence sections, (make them Components, same as I do with SUp then haul it 300 miles North up the to the foot of the Sierras and Yosemite, and install it. It would be fabricated from vertical grain, old growth western red cedar, salvaged logs from Vancouver Island BC. You can see pics of us working the same stock, building a 5' wide Entry here http://woodsshop.com/How%20To/BuildAJapaneseGate.htm Such beautiful material. the fencing would look similar to this project http://woodsshop.com/closeup/deck02_7.htm

You could also try photobucket, i prefer it because it doesnt shrink the images to a thumbnail in your post

this last one is better, not only because of the grass, but also because it's more vivid. very realistic!

Elegant design, love the way the terraces allow the inhabitants to interact with the outdoors on all floors, and the addition of the sun shade works well with the building. Is the sun shade retractable?

Hi Fletch......I havn't had much spare time on my hands to develop this on any further yet. ....it's difficult to balance the business side of making money, with the enjoyable side of playing with SU and KT. I have a couple of projects to complete fairly urgently....as soon as I have got those out of the way I'll be able to play again and learn more..!!.....and I'm looking forward to it. Cheers, Gareth

Thank you very much for the warm welcome and positive feedback. Dylan, i agree the street lamp looks a bit small in scale, i did this one a while back so i don't remember well but i think i scaled the street lamp down to make space for the floating sign. Will be posting a few other designs soon. Take care all, Serrot

Point taken...and agreed to! too = too much! :`) The attached is a better rendering of a worse composition (and the SU only export, as promised elswhere). It is worse for two reasons: first...generally just is!, eye movement thru it is whack; second...because it fails my concept of focusing first on the feel of the "neighborhood", then on the building (the only "real" detail of "said-same" given, and since new to "it" gives the punch). But obviously, that feel here is coming all from my back-shadows, so I will think some more and try same on a more real project: but the concept is that the real use of a render is to express (and sell) the aura of a proposed project, and hopefully how that interacts with what's already there...?
