    • RE: Couple of project renders combining SU and CS3

Here are a few base detail sections I made up in SU. There was some confusion as to the assembly methods so I did these to clarify the intent - worked like a charm. SU rocks!

    • Couple of project renders combining SU and CS3

Figured I'd share a few renders I've done for some projects in the past using SU and CS3. I used these to go thru city reviews and they did the job. Love SU, it's made my job so much easier!

The 2nd and 3rd render display the difference between an SU output and a traditional render - I've found that I get more feedback from the SU renders I do as the clients don't feel they look so "rigid"...as a say - a "Max" render would. Gives them the sense that we can still easily make changes and the design is more fluid (sssh...don't let them know how EASY it really is!) LOL!

Goodness gracious - I LOVE the creativity in the presentation! That sketched up site plan would be a sure seller for one of my laborious ARB Town Approval hearings! I'm in the retail biz and use SU often for city permit presentations and such.

Very nice work - thanks! ๐Ÿ‘

Here's one of the storefront I did for a client:

    • My Sig in SU - rendered with Podium...just becasue

I think this little sig model came out pretty cool and I figured I'd share. I often use it now as my sig or avatar. Simple, clean, to the point. Has an interesting symmetry to it.

BubbaLove - Looks like your using Piranesi for your output correct? Also, how and what did you use to make that fantastic looking forested area - the trees really look great!

Good for an ARB meeting for sure!

Agree...when I saw "Accurender" I was like "huh?"...I've used Accurender for other apps in the past, I didn't know this was theirs. Ultimately - doesn't bother me, I just want it!!

    • RE: A bit more NXT fun - info station model render

Sorry, I forgot to name drop the render engine plugin - It's IRender NXT Beta...it's in testing stages right now so you can try it for a period. IRender and IRender+ are currently for sale, the NXT version is in Beta testing, it's what I used for me renderings. In my opinion, it's the best plugin I've seen yet - even against Podium. When NXT is completed, it's going to be fantastic and really change what you can use SketchUp for.

    • A bit more NXT fun - info station model render

Getting a bit more into NXT with this model - I wanted to see how an exterior render would look so I created a simple "Information Station" building (those stops you often make when driving from state to state (LOL) Anyway - I included the SU screen image, a material-less render in NXT and then a full blown NXT render using the exterior lighting mode. All renders took 6 minutes each. Nice and quick. What do you'all think? Are you loving this plugin as much as I am?? Lemme know.

    • First Crack at NXT and am LOVING IT!!

Hi all - I just discovered NXT and am LOVING IT! Amazing what you can do with your SU models now - it's just what SU needed to take it to the next level. Here is a test room I mocked up to test the lighting...3 images, I posted the lights and the exterior in with CS3.

As I'm green to NXT _ I just couln't figure out how to make your light sources "glow" like a light would...I used all the 2x4 light sources in the ceiling and made sure the "glow" factor was on but when I rendered, it just didn't appear...although the lighting effects did happen in the scene. This is why I bounced into CS3 to make my own light glow.

If I'm missing something on how to get this effect, someone please let me know.

      Thanks!
      Akonius

BTW - when can I buy NXT!! NOT SOON ENOUGH!! I wish I had more than a 30 day beta!

    • RE: Sydney Opera House with "watercolor"

I also use Piranesi and like the results very much - often I go into PhotoShop "after" Piranesi. What version of Piranesi did you use for this? I'm curious...
