Good stuff, especially like the 2nd and 3rd ones.

crits: grass in the first one is very flat, although i dont knw how you go about getting decent looking grass so ic ant help much there.

I think the last one needs a bit longer to render...theres quite a bit of noise, although that should be quite easily fixed with a longer render.

I used to use a displacement map in vray (3ds max) with some pretty incredible results "for grass".
Im not sure if maxwell offers the same opportunity.

I do remember that my render times went thru the roof.

            Nice work Andre!

Andre these are very nice. How did you do your exterior lighting? Is this an HDR map?

Here is a grass component that I modified using Kwistenbiebel's grass component for KT and made a transparent png for the use of it in SU:

From the linked post above you can get to Kwists' post at the KT Forums where he shared the clipmap and the link where he shared the jpg verion, too.

                Gai...

displacement is one way to go now.. maxwell is capable of this now.. or once instancing is included in the upcoming plugin release, there is a simpletechnique that produces very realistic looking grass.. basically this is a 5x5 square witha bunch of random small rectangles with clipmaps of grass on them. this isnt the best example.. but you get the idea..

Hi Matheo, the people are from 3d low poly and cannot be used for close shots but they reflect and respond to light ok.

Lapx, Thanks & Sky is generic Maxwell.

Marked001, I tried displacement with ok results - see below but will check your link.

Gaieus, downloaded your skippie and will give it a go - thanks.

Added a re-render of the exterior to address flat grass.

The sky is a bit dark though...

                      Cheers

                      Andre

this last one is better, not only because of the grass, but also because it's more vivid. very realistic!
