In the same folder the hi-res mod.thea file is save the .skp but prefix .mod.skp to it. In the .mod.skp file you can have faceme or whatever to represent to hi-res. What I typically do is make the .mod.thea file. Then drop into SU the box. Import my .skp proxy and position within box. Scale as needed. Delete box. Purge scene and zoom out so when you save the thumb nail is correct.

@lz said: Awesome renders. Those trees look perfect. Never heard of this before. Is Octane a seperate program that can import skp or is it implemented in sketchup like Vray? Hello there. Octane runs inside Sketchup rendering/editing in realtime. Octane has the StandAlone version that works with .obj files, but now we can model/edit/render all at same time inside Sketchup- Really great. You can see here a litle timelaps from that work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtOtQtQZklk%26amp;list=UUq7rgvAxgNEhYIVaXjV1avw facebook https://www.facebook.com/octane4sketchup?fref=nf overview http://render.otoy.com/manuals/Sketchup/?page_id=823 cheers resmas

The ground plane was assigned a 'shadow-catcher' material in Thea, and rendered using the sun as a lightsource and the background image for global illumination. hi.. i know this is an old thread, but maybe i can get some help first of all, great renders.. my question is: i like Cinema 4D cause all of the reasons you mentioned, and i export models from sketchup in 3DS format, by material, as well All works great, but only 7 out of 10 materials get exported...... some materials export as a solid color and its not a C4D open file problem, its a sketchup export problem, because when i open the folder i exported the file to, some textures are not there... does this happen to you? can you export to 3DS with all textures? if so, how do you do it?
