Hello, Smegan, Exporting a model in .FBX format assumes that you are using SketchUp Pro. A kind of workaround to import it using the free version of SU: http://sites.google.com/site/alexvaqp/sketchupblender From Blender, you should be able to export it as .3ds or .obj and then to Maya (hopefully). I hope this helps.

Cool. I never really know if I am explaining what needs to be explained or something else, trivial and well known thing.

Thanks Mike...could have sworn the "Shadows ON" worked OK for viewing the tub in Model Space before, but apparently not. Appreciate the fix for my annoying problem

Well, hand-stitching indeed takes a looot of time. However, Extrusion tools by TIG is worth having in any case - an entire suite that makes a life easier. Something in there will suit your needs, for sure. Hope you have a nice weekend too!

You can align a view to any face, then make a scene using that view now looking 'square' at the roof surface... To align a view first select one roof face, then right-click context-menu, pick 'Align View', the view changes itself - you are now looking at the face 'square-on'. You might want to change the Camera setting from Perspective to Parallel too. Pan the view to show what you want [BUT don't 'orbit' as you'll loose the 'squared-view']. Now use the Scene Manager and make a new scene-tab for that view. When you next want to go to that view click the tab and the view changes to suit. Tip you can also change the model's axes temporarily so they align with the roof plane - making drawing on the plane with inferencing etc much easier... Hope that all helps...

There are several good plugins to help with making helical forms BUT you can do it 'by hand' quite easily - e.g. see here for some ideas http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=9097&p=55538&hilit=helical+ramp#p55538 ...

No, that's a vertex editor. It's like shooting sparrows with cannons. You can do it - but maybe a shotgun would also be enough. Maybe thomthom could release just the vertex highlighting plugin? The Sandbox > Smoove tool highlights vertices, too (what's more, "weighed"!)

Dino Those Kolbe windows are not created right, some of them have reversed faces, bits on wrong layers etc. They have also not been made into components correctly, so try exploding the component, while it's still all hightlighted after exploding make it a component again this time select it to glue to vertical and check the cut opening option. This will now work.
