Before you go to the trouble of redrawing it, just check the textures opacity. Select the texture and hit the edit tab, down the bottom you can adjust the opacity, that might fix it for you.

Thanks. I've been looking for months for just that one line of code. Now rendering sketchyphysics with v-ray is one step closer.

Bob, as we discussed last night, you can test the gluing properties of your components after you've changed them by inserting a new instance of the component in your model. Also, as I tried to tell you before our connection was cut, I don't think gluing is going to solve the "instability" issue you've been experiencing. That's not what SketchUp's gluing is for. Gluing is used as an aid for positioning components on faces but it doesn't prevent them from being moved after they've been placed. For that you need to lock them or at least avoid them with the Move and/or Rotate tools. As I told you last night when we were chatting, I would like to help you sort out what is happening in your drawing process that causes what you describe as instability. I'm convinced there's something fairly fundamental that can be fixed.

If you have the latest SketchUp [version 8 or 2013], then under the menu item, Window > Preferences > Extensions you will have an 'Install from archive' button. That will install the contents of the selected RBZ file for you. Alternatively use that button to install the 'SketchUcation Plugin Store' Toolset [there are links in the Resources menu]... after that, then that tool will work within SketchUp itself, and it can download and auto-install plugins for you... as well as do many other useful things like managing plugins and extensions...

@dave r said: Well, I can't help you with the automatic replacement when you open the master file. As I told you in my last PM, I do almost all of my drawing and editing in situ and this is one of the reasons. Maybe it would be possible for a plugin to automate the replacement of components but I'm not the guy for that. Alright, thx for the effort anyway!

@bob-designer said: I have reviewed all the imformation provided and fail to see anything that indicates how to change the "Glue to" condition from "none" and make it possible to select horizontal, vertical, any or sloped glue to condition..... The components browser lets you change properties to 'Glue to' etc. This is for instances not yet in the model. Existing 'In Model' unglued instances will not change their current unglued situation. Not that useful to you, I guess. Try both next plugins. I'm not sure if ThomThom's plugin does that job to components in the model, but if I'm not mistaken, TIG's plugin changes unglued instances in use. I don't have them installed. I was going to create a new thread slightly similar to this but I happened to find this in a search so decided to ask here if there was a plugin similar to the functions of the transform type in box found in 3ds Max. [image: 1u0q.jpg] Anybody that's fimilar with this knows it basically behaves differently depending on the transform tool used. There are x,y & z coordinates both relative and absolute for move, scale, rotate. It works at both at the top-level of an object and subobject level (vertices, polygons etc) I've searched for this on the forum, but if anyone knows of anything similar please let me know. I believe this is my first post, I've been reading for a while now and I have to say it's one of the best forums out there.

Years ago there was such a tool by TBD [AddTime?] which seems to be no longer available. I have a modified version of it that I use personally. But because of possible copyright issues it's not publicly available...

@fatboycakeshop said: ....I have imported a DWG (with scale bar) in SKP and need to scale it as somewhere along the line things got a messed up. Is there anyway a can scale to target (i think thats what its called)? Basically I want to click on a line in the imported DWG (say the scale bar) and then click on a line i have drawn in SKP that is its real world equivalent. That way I can be certain its the right scale...... Resizing with the 'Scale' tool to exact dimensions can be difficult. Dave's method is the way to go. But note that if you import the DWG into an existing model with already existing geometry, then you ought to use this method inside the DWG's editing context(DWG in a group), to only resize this group. Otherwise the entire model will be resized, i.e DWG and existing geometry.
