      Hi all

When adding a page to your layout document but the reference is too big for your clipboard to copy & paste from the previous page, do you go file-insert-navigate to the file?
I not sure why some of these view ports are to big for the clipboard, the model is quite small but i suppose the texture sizes make a difference.

      Is there a quicker way?

Thanks in advance for any advise.

I've never run into a case where I couldn't copy and paste a viewport in LO. How big is the SKP file? Does the SketchUp Model inspector window show the viewport scene as modified?

I certainly wouldn't attempt to use File>Insert. What happens if you duplicate a page with a viewport on it? Do you get a new page and can you change the scene once you have the duplicate?

Could you share the LO file? Maybe by private message if you don't want to make it public.

          Thanks for that Dave.
It seems to be behaving itself now.
And I also hadn't thought to duplicate the page so i will be doing that in future if i run into trouble.
The file is 266mb and the viewport wasn't modified.
I guess you would only go file>insert if you wanted viewports from a separate .skp

266mb? Have you tried purging unused stuff? I'd bet there's some.

Yes, you would use File>Insert if you are starting a new file from LO or you want to add other SKP files. You want to avoid creating multiple references to the same SKP file. That creates problems.

FWIW, the LO file contains a copy of the SKP file so the LO file size is directly impacted by the size of the SKP. If you had multiple references to your 266mb file, the LO file would be grossly overweight. And for no benefit.
