So Dave, in your video tutorial the length of your 'dummy' face is the diagonal length of the countertop?
Or have you taken the perimeter?
I assume the first one.....

got my pipe packed, Stinkie, where do we meet????
Will need to know what you look like...or maybe I'll work it out from your username.....
I hope it's cold there..... could work up quite a sweat in that building!!!
STOP IT SOLO, I'M NOT GETTING ANY WORK DONE!!!!!!!
You're right Jim, that's the only thing that restricts it from being a 'face style' option. It would be nice to be able to "update scene" individually rather than a ruby that effects the model period....but that takes away from the "reverse color" option....
I guess if this was a face style and we wanted to 'spot color' an element, we could set up diferent components and scenes then import into Layout and overlay scenes.....a round about way of doing things though and getting into another topic, 'more than one style in a drawing / file'.
Five Star, Jim.
Thanks Ridix,
You're right, Layers are solely for controlling visibility....
But SU and Layout gives you the option to lock layers to assist in you working; so you don't pick an object / group / component when you don't want to....
In Layout, [which is what this thread is about] you may have multiple views of a model all overlapping each other.... If you put each view on it's own layer and lock it then you won't have this problem...
My point is that when a view of even an object drawn in Layout is on a layer that is locked, you can't snap to it.....

I like it and thanks, but can't this be done using a Style?
I agree, Coen. A face style. That way we could save it to styles and scenes.....
It wound allow us to 'revert color' in a style / scene though I wouldn't think..... Jim?

for the problems, maybe you must disable the old "line2cyl.rb"?
maybe...for me it works with old tool....
Thanks Didier for a very usefull plugin... I was wondering if there is way to clean up intersection...
Ditto Sepo, I found the same thing...
First of all I'll echo Dave_R's comments. Jim, you are a generous fella...
For those of you who didn't see how this evolved, see http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=12226&p=88778#p88778
Sometime, a schematic presentations seem to be best a little less 'in your face' in grey scale...
I tried it out on a little modular house I designed...
The only problem with it is that it doesn't act like 'face styles' in that changing from one scene to another it doesn't save with styles....
Not complaining though!!! Would love to see it included in SU7.0 face styles...

You'r right Boo, Tools is where it is.....
now have a little moment at my expense!!!
look under plugins..... [to the left of HELP!!!!]

sorry, had a little moment there...

Hi Guys,
I've downloaded the Jing Project (free) for the Mac also registered with ScreenCast, free for 60 days. There is also a Win version of Jing. I can highly recommend this set up for communication.
Mike
Thank for the Jing Project, Mike!!!!!!
I like a few of you guys use:
iGoogle
objectDock
winRAR
ccleaner [the best!!!]
Not a fan of Synctoy, I use allwaysync.
http://allwaysync.com/
j_forrester, right click on the model you bring into LayOut....
This is what i mean, Juan. Even if we toggle 'object snap' off you still can't snap to it.....
We should be able to, period. We shouldn't be restricted to objects snapping only on active or un-locked layers....
Any 'Skooglers' here to comment?
