Thanks Alan, thanks cool...
how about the edges though? I guess the ruby [if it was done with ruby] would find a custon edge style with altered edge color......

RE: Snap to
You know, a green dot when you have the end point; blue for the mid-point, red when you're on the line and black on intersection....?

Snap to
Am I the only one who doesn't know that you can't snap to an object in LO if the object is on a locked layer? This is crazy!!!!

You need to be able to snap to either objects and or grids don't you think!Otherwise, what is the point of inferencing? Not everything is going to be on one layer in LayOut......

RE: Small House 80m2 , WIP
nice start EduardoNL. You might check the head room on the 7th step though... might need a bit more head height about there...

RE: Grey scale style
@unknownuser said:
Perhaps another approach would be to create a gray scale materials library and use that for most of the model.
I would have thought it would be easiest to just view the colored model in grey scale..... coloring the faces different shades of grey would mean that it could not be view in color without re-painting it....
Thanks for your input with this Dave, much appreciated...

RE: Grey scale style
That's it Dave, just add another tab to the face style toolbar.....
Obviously the extent of grey scaling could be altered by switching to shaded or shaded and switch face color and it should convert to a varied grey scale.....Does anyone ever need monochrome anyway?the image above is from this website:
You'll see that it is a consistent theme throughout the presentaiton and is quite effective with the addition of a small amount of color....

RE: Grey scale style
exactly, remus. I like the idea of having grey scale faces and edges for a softer presentation at times.....

Grey scale style
Hey Guys,
just wondering if you think you would find this useful... grey scale mode.I like the idea of coloring the model but also toggling 'grey scale' for certain output options.....
What do you think? Maybe SketchUp 8.0...

RE: Comments...
Guys,
This mining town is reasonably close to me [1500k's] and yes the ol' mayor has ruffled some feathers. He was quoted in the paper yesterday as saying he stands by his comments and added that the story has done wonders for the Western Queensland township by taking the story global.... [Clever mob of blokes out there...]I recently had a motel built out there [opened at Xmas, 2007] and soon to increase it by 30% as it is doing very well; unfortunately by doing so I am only adding to the imbalance....
BTW ladies, before packing the suitcase, 'doning the tophat and boots' and flying into the sunset, know that flights are very expensive. And expect to share the plane with many other women who only speak 'engrish' and are only in the country for two weeks.
I still wonder what line of work they're in....

RE: Almost to the point of giving up . . ..
You're right Juan I meant 0.1mm.....

My work generally presented on A3 landscape. I apply a 10mm grid, divided into 5. [2mm minor grids]
This way when I don't need to snap to grid I know I am still drawing in 1mm increments.....
