Just went to Save As to make a new component from an existing one & got the following message pop up (see attachment). I actually tried to scale part of the component using Fredos Scale Box but ended up remaking the part instead then closed the component. Then went to Save As and got this msg. I'm not sure how I would remove the "non-default scale" to begin with. I don't want to Save As with some funny internal scale & any issues this could cause if used later in another model. Just wondering what's best practise in this case. Have I created another "Doh Book" entry?

Corona Render
What ever happened to Corona render for SU? Did it ever get released from Beta testing? I can't seem to find anything about it.

RE: Easier way to bookmark posts
Ah, there it is.....obviously didn't scroll down far enough. Long way down there, bit like Australia, down under. We are a lazy bunch down here
Cheers

RE: Component appears at model origin instead of dragging in
Ah ha. I never would of thought of checking the geo-location.
Another one for the Doh book.
Thanks Box. -
Easier way to bookmark posts
Maybe I'm missing something but it seems it could be easier to bookmark posts. Also be good to be able to auto bookmark your posts under account options.

Component appears at model origin instead of dragging in
I have a couple of 2D cornice profile components I've created but when I select one of these components for use in a model, they instantly appear at the model origin instead of allowing me to drag it into the file and place it where I want. Why?

Adding attachment to draft post in forum
How do you attach an attachment to a draft post? Or can't you? Once you save as a draft this option seems gone. Do you have to copy and past into a new post to attach a file?

RE: [Plugin] HouseBuilder
Just opened the garage_tour.skp model & not a bad tutorial for HouseBuilder. Found out the metric version definitely has some issues. If I add a door or window the wall floor plate looses it's sides & the opening header tends to be a little long. Still, pretty handy tool. Thanks TIG for converting to metric. I suspect I installed the older files when I tried HouseBuilder early in my SU days, but got frustrated with imperial units. Gets a bit tiresome having to select the right sized timber every time but can't complain when it's free.

RE: [Plugin] HouseBuilder
I have two old files (Date Modified 4/12/2005) "HouseBuilder.rb" & "HouseBuilderTool.rb" with a model called garage_tour.skp file (all in same folder I've downloaded from somewhere but damned if I can remember where). I've downloaded TIG's newer version (metric) and it works fine but just wondering what to do with the old files. Are they the original .rb files for the SU8 version? Just tidying up my extension files. Pretty sure I don't need them anymore but thought it might pay to check prior to deleting.

RE: Can't "Add All" Component Attributes
Just wondering if anyone else has this issue or is it another bug in SU 2016 that everyone has learn't to live with? I still can't "Add All" component attributes at once!

RE: [Preview] Wrap-R Video #2
Wow. Looks good. If you need a complete noob for testing, I'm in. Might be helpful.....can't blame a bloke for trying though

RE: Paint.net image transparency mask tutorial or help
@dave r said:
After you've done the above, use TIG's Image Trimmer to trim around the edges to create a face the shape of the object and create a material from the imported image. I did something like that from a photo of my son for this old Christmas card.
I tried and failed. Alas;-) Actually Image Trimmer made SU unresponsive for about 15 mins (had a cuppa) and still hadn't finished so I used Task Manager to stop. Thought about how many edges I'd end up with and had second thoughts.
I've attached the image I'm working with. Maybe too much detail/edges etc.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers.
Whoops - file size too big. Hmmm. Will attach a smaller image size later.

Paint.net image transparency mask tutorial or help
I use Paint.net for removing image backgrounds & making images transparent(PNG's).
Does anyone know how to use Paint.net to add what I think is a "transparency mask" to an image background so that it is "truly transparent" in SU and produces accurate or actual shadows in SU with out having to "cut-out" the image or use rendering?

Reread this topic, about using the correct [but oddly named] file
http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=537020#p537020Deleted the "FollowAndRotate_en.rbs" file & no more msg.
Thanks TIG.

Error Msg when SketchUp starts
I recently installed "FollowAndRotate" plugin and now get error msg when opening SketchUp Pro 2015.
Checked the plugins folder and "inputbox.rb", "FollowAndRotate_cn.rbs", and "FollowAndRotate_en.rbs" are there. The plugin still seems to work ok just wondering why I would be getting msg. Running Win10 (64 bit). -
Can't "Add All" Component Attributes
I don't seem to be able to "Add All" when adding component attributes to my components. When I try, eg. Position, the Position LenX, Y & Z options disappear from the Component Attribute drop-down window but don't appear as Component Attributes and is then gone from the drop-down window so I can't select it!
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

RE: Component attribute value is red with # at beginning
I think I've got one for the next Doh Book. When constraining a component attribute it pays to delete the units from the value. I was leaving the cm in the value box and this is what was causing the #=100 cm in red. Noob I am.
-
Component attribute value is red with # at beginning
Whenever I create a component (say a simple box) and try to 'fix' it's size in Component Attibutes by typing = in front of the LenX value for example, it turns red with a # in front of the value as in '#=100cm'. What is going on? What am I doing wrong? Can save a file with a component in it that I've tried to fix size and upload file if needed.

RE: TurboCAD Pro 20 import to SketchUp doesn't work?
Hi Deborah. I use TurboCad Pro 2015 and it helps if you move everything to layer 0 in TC before saving as DWG for SketchUp import. I tried it on your file and it works better than if you don't. I noticed it has not imported walls but not sure what else. When SketchUp opens the file it show a statistical report on items not imported before you can open it, if this is any help. I've attached some screenshots of my attempts to import from TC to SU. One with all layers as is, and one where I moved most to Layer 0. Some layers caused havoc when I tried to move them (Appliances) and crashed TC so not sure what is going on there. I suspect importing the walls might have something to do with x-refs but can't be sure. If you go onto TC forum (http://forums.turbocad.com/) you will find heaps of info on exporting files, bit too much for my liking. Hope this was of some help. Let me know if you have success. It would be nice to be able to share drawings between apps but like all things these days, it ain't simple. Good luck.
